Out of all the locations I’ve been to this is the WORST one. I had never been to this location until last Friday. I only went bc it happens to be close to my bfs job and we met for a late lunch. The floor in the cooking area is DISGUSTING. It looks like it hasn’t been swept/mopped in weeks. The carpet inside the ladies restroom is disgusting as well. The food wasn’t cooked all the way. Veggies were still hard. I asked for an extra bread and they told me to ask the server. I always go to the location in McAllen and they give it to me right there and then. Not even halfway through our meal the server gives us the check which I found very rude. We didn’t ask for it. I felt as if we were being subtly told to leave. I asked for my bread after the fact because I figured if I’m gonna have to ask for it at the table I might as well ask for it when I’m ready so it’s warm. A different server brought it and then brought us another check that included the charge for the bread. Again, we are still not done eating. We never got asked if we wanted refills. When it was time to pay I told the cashier I wasn’t going to pay for the bread because they had already given me a ticket BEFORE I asked for it, BEFORE we were ready to pay. She called the manager, a woman who was very rude and condescending. She said it was THEIR policy, among the servers to give guests their receipts before clocking out. She clarified this was NOT Khan’s policy, but THEIR policy among the servers. I told her I still didn’t want to pay for it because they should have waited for me to ask for the check or told me they had to give me the check if that was the case. She then asked me if I ate the bread. I told her “of course I did” but that I still wanted it comped because of the check situation. I mentioned to her that I didnt understand why the cook couldn’t give me the bread and that when I go to my usual location they just give it to me there. She said that’s how they do things at THIS location and gave no apology. I told her my experience was not good at all and instead of apologizing (where she had another opportunity to do so), she told me I should go to the location I always go to instead if I like it so much and that she never gets negative complaints. That guests always tell her it’s exceptional service which I believe is a load of crap. The cashier then started to make comments directly at me. I told her no one is talking to her because I was talking to the manager and she rolled her eyes so hard at me. I’m sure she could see her brain. I found that very rude. Especially because I never said anything to her other than “I’m not paying for the bread” because of the check situation and she took it VERY personal. As soon as I began to speak to the manager, the only thing I said to her was that I wasn’t talking to her. The manager comped the bread to get me to leave. However, I still find the service repulsive as well as the restaurant itself considering the lack of cleanliness. I will make sure to never return here. It is not a friendly or clean environment and I made a huge mistake thinking that every Khans location was the same. I love Khans but I will stick to the location in McAllen where I’ve never had...
Read moreSo I don’t usually write reviews, but I felt that i had to now with the service i received. I like to eat here a lot, the chefs are nice and the food is usually good. Once there was a hair on the chicken but you can’t blame the staff for that because people are allowed to get their own food, so it happens. Another time there was a fly near the food, I didn’t make a scene or anything, I alerted a worker and he quickly changed out the entire plate. Last week I had received a plate but it was full with burnt oil from the grill, I wouldn’t have cared but it was the 3rd time that this had happened. So i called and a very nice lady helped me out, she told me she also hates when it happens and to take pictures and i would get credit for another plate. So i did just that. I went to redeem my plate a few days later, i spoke to the lady at the register first before serving myself, she has asked me who i spoke with and then called the manager. This is where things got bad. The manager came over in what seemed a very bad mood. We politely told the managers what had happened and tried to show her the pictures the nice lady had told us to show her. She then yelled, yes yelled, at us telling us she did not care about the picture. The chefs and servers are always extremely nice around here, but the lady at the register and the manage showed no respect to us and did not care about our concerns. It’s a bummer because i loved eating here, but the attitude these girls had, has ruined the whole...
Read moreThe food nor the price didn't live up to all the hype I've heard about this place. I went for the first time and it was during lunch. The service was fast and friendly and I had my companions guide me. I had noodles, assorted veggies and spices of my liking, fish, dragon sauce, and fried rice. All of us who requested fried rice got rice that was still white with barely any mixed veggies in it: disappointing. It's cool to watch them grill up your food until you think about how the spatulas are cross contaminating with all the different meats. It might not be an issue because of the heat, but that still lingered in my mind. All the food is then served to you on one plate with a buttered dinner roll. I think an option of soup instead of rice would've been nice due to the carb overload. Obviously the majority of the flavor is up to you and your selection, so thank goodness I know how to cook and season meat properly. I'm guessing those who don't, ask for suggestions or use trial and error? All in all, I had a decent experience, tried it once, but definitely didn't leave me craving it or wanting to go back...
