I used to come here as a kid with my parents all the time. We would drive about 20 minutes just to eat dinner here all the time. Back when it use to be slammed packed and every table full. My boyfriend and I just happened to be in Cypress two nights ago and I was like oh lets go here I haven't been there in forever! And honestly I was VERY DISAPPOINTED. I ordered the chicken fajitas for one and my boyfriend ordered a burrito with sour cream cheese meat and beans with chili sauce on the side that's it. That's all he wanted on the burrito. When we proceeded to get our meal I noticed that my fajitas only came with grilled onions. No red or green peppers in sight. Right there I felt like they were cutting corners and being pretty cheap. I understand that covid has probably affected your business but come on. I when I ordered I asked for fajita vegetables on the side instead of rice or beans. Was told this would be an up charge which I am completely fine with that anytime I go to any restaurant. But he didn't even bring out the rice and beans that come with it for my boyfriend to have. I got was the smallest strips of chicken. (I think I would have gotten more if I had ordered the tacos a la carbon) and what was a mixed vegetable extravaganza that were steamed not fajita. And for some reason it had tomatoes and celery in it. I was so confused by this. Now here comes the good part, back to that burrito my boyfriend ordered. As soon as the waiter sat it down we both looked at each other very confused. Was a chimichanga, a deep fried burrito....he had asked for the burrito dinner. He then asked the waiter who proceeded to tell us that all of their burritos are fried. If all of your burritos are fried then why don't you call them a chimichanga? Because there's definitely a chimichanga on the menu.... We were just so confused. The waiter goes back and puts in another order for just a regular (non deep fried) burrito for him because he refuses to eat it. And again it comes out not correct. He's missing the cheese and there is no sour cream either. He has to ask the waiter again which feels like forever for him to come check on us again for sour cream on the side. He had left the other burrito with us like no big deal which is cool. But when we checked that first burrito that had come out it was wrong too on the inside. The chili sauce that was on the side looked like what was herdez chili out of a can that had been watered down and blended to look almost like dog food. I honestly never leave reviews better this bad but I honestly don't want the same experience to happen to somebody else. I was super embarrassed that I had brought my boyfriend to this place that I had super hyped up from my childhood for it to turn out to be a place cutting corners and had fallen so far from where it was 10 years ago. Heck even...
Read moreMy husband and I have been coming to this restaurant for several years. We moved clear across town and still drove the distance because we always enjoyed it so much. The food was consistently good, the service was spot on and the atmosphere was fun, with the birds in the lobby constantly calling out to the customers it was just so much fun.
But things have changed. Now when you walk up to the door, the bird (only 1 now) is outside looking sad and pathetic. When I asked why I was told it makes to much noise-STRIKE ONE. The girls at the entrance were busy chatting and not paying a bit of attention to who was coming in - STRIKE TWO. Of course we did have wonderful service from Melchor who is the best of the best. But the food was not good -STRIKE THREE. The fajita meat was tasteless. The shrimp was so overcooked you couldn't even cut it. So I didn't eat it. Which made my Shrimp Vallarta pointless. And everyone seemed so stressed out. The servers were not there happy, fun selves. They were not smiling or enjoying themselves which was a huge disappointment - STRIKE FOUR.
But the biggest disappointment was the new manager. I had never seen her before in all of the times we have been there. When I told her that I had noticed the changes she actually said to me "there have been no changes." Does she think I'm blind or crazy. She acted like how dare I make a complaint about things. She was very curt with me. When I told her my food had been so bad I couldn't eat it, not one time did she offer to discount it or make it right. She said that all of the recipes were the same as always and that the kitchen staff was the same. I found her to be rude and unprofessional.
When we have family in from out of town (which is quite often) we would always take them to "our favorite restaurant". That will not be the case now. I believe that the food could be resolved. I believe the atmosphere could be resolved. But I do not believe that the manager that blatantly lied to me when I was there could ever be fixed. So as long as she is there, I will not be. Which is a shame considering the amount of money we spent there last year.
So sorry that they have let someone come in and run off their...
Read moreThis was our very first experience at La Hacienda on Telge Rd. We were excited to try a new Mexican restaurant so close to our home. We called in our order To-Go and stopped by the restaurant to pick up our order for a family of 4. We were welcomed as soon as we walked in the door to pick up the order- so that was a pleasant surprise. We arrived home and then noticed that our half gallon of Melon Margarita (that we paid extra for the flavoring) was unfortunately just a regular Margarita. We called the restaurant again and informed of the concern. The gentleman Manager on the phone was very friendly- informing that if we came back up to the restaurant they would replace it with no problem. I drove back up to the restaurant and unfortunately received a very different experience. The gentleman Manager that was so helpful on the phone through his hands up, said he couldnt do anything about it and that he would have to get someone else to help me. Another lady that I never spoke to asked what did I need. I informed her of the concern of paying extra for Melon and only received a regular Margarita half gallon. She took the half gallon to the back and brought out a new container that contained the Melon Margarita. Then she brought out 2 glasses (one with regular margarita and one with melon margarita samples) and performed almost a science experiment in front of me showing me the difference in color. I was insulted. I am 40 years old, I know the difference between a regular margarita and a melon flavored margarita that has a lime neon green tint to it. I was completely caught off-guard and disappointed that we had such a positive start to our dinner. But then had a simple mistake- and it turned very ugly. In closing, I would hope no one has any issues with their orders from La Hacienda that do decide to attend and wont have to go through this treatment. No one should have to get talked down to for a mistake THE RESTAURANT made. I do not recommend this...
