Manny's Pizza & Pasta — Restaurant in Texas

I want to like this. West Houston/Katy/Cy-Fair really needs a quality take out. Manny's pizza gets an A, I am born and raised just south of Philly and this is as close to NY-style pizza as I can get, save for [perhaps Brothers Pizza, which I'd give an A+ to. Mannys is generous with cheese, and crust is just doughy enough! Topping portions are not particularly generous, but they are fair. Overall a quality pizza that they should be proud of.

Delivery was also prompt; I think prices are reasonable.

My 2 issues with them: cheesesteak and FF. If you get the 12 in sub, you get the same meat portion spread over 12 inches, that you would normally get on 6 inches. Their bread approximates Amoroso-style bread, almost, but not exactly. Meat portion should be, honestly, about 3 times what it is. It was almost like someone took a steak-um and put it on 12 in of bread. The right way is with fresh roast beef, and your proportions of beef to bread should be much higher. Lettuce, tomato and Mayo and red pepper relish should be offered as options - currently, I believe only tomatoes are. I don't see any problem in paying more, but really, I would like a refund on my sub, or at least 50% off since there was no meat on 12in of bread. French-fries: seem like Sysco-frozen fries. You can do better than that. Quality potatoes don't cost that much, and invest in some peanut oil. Fresh-cut fries as opposed to wholesale frozen fries - I'd gladly pay a premium for the real deal.

My family and I are frequent customers to the restaurant - frequent. When I needed a place to feed the varsity football team at CySprings High School, I inquired while picking up a meal for my family. The gentleman gave me the price and told me he would need to know for sure at least 24 hours in advance so that he could have the pasta prepared. I called back the next day at 2:55pm and confirmed the order, the price and the pick up time. I arrived at Manny’s the following day at 12:08, 8 minutes after my pick up time, and the food was not ready. Not only was it not ready, it had not been prepared!!! The gentleman told me that he “ called my phone” and “some guy answered” and told him I didn’t order anything. Initially, I laughed thinking he was kidding. He was not. I had an entire football team, trainers and coaches to feed before a game that day and there was no entree. I had to WAIT for the spaghetti to be prepared. As I was waiting, he came to me with a piece of receipt tape and asked me to write down my phone number!!!!! Why in the world would he need that if he called me and some guy told him I didn’t want the food??? I was offered nothing for the mistake. The food was brought to the team ridiculously late and now I have to find another place to purchase food for the team. I’ve ordered wings from this establishment before and they were excellent! On Sunday, 12/9/23 I placed an order for 25 wings to be delivered. I knew exactly what I wanted and anxiously awaited the arrival of our dinner which was approximated 45-50 min. 1-2/2 hrs later the food arrived, not correct and cold. I called the store I ordered from and they were closed. I called next day to express my disappointment, and ask for my order to be done correctly and I would pick them up another day, NOT a refund. I was notified that was not possible, only a 30% discount on next time order from Manny’s. I am NOT satisfied! I am given owner’s number, so I call and recant situation, to which I am told again he could not remake my order 25 wings correctly another time; only 1/2 of my order - 13 wings or a single topping pizza and 10 wings. That is ridiculous! I even said to him I would NEVER pay $32.00 (which is what my bill was) for a 1-topping pizza ($9.99) and wings ($7.99). What a rip off! Other disturbing issue is the owner was telling me he couldn’t satisfy my request and make me whole for their mistakes because he would be fired, but he’d bring the situation to his next weekly meeting....
