Mr. Hoagies — Restaurant in Texas

Mr. Hoagies has been around for a long time. I mean a LONG time. Since before I was in high school (at least 8yrs but that's besides the point). He sandwhiches are good if you need something to tide you over and they are cheap. Im not saying they are culinary excellence but they have been good since before I had facial hair. The pizza could use more sauce but then you couldn't have that incredibly long string of cheese coming from the main body of pizza to your freshly pulled slice....the service time has slowed down to a snails pace maybe it's time to hand the reigns over to another generation, if willing. But I don't want it to go but some change is needed of a little modern atmosphere. It is a staple in north houston. If you can stand the wait. I suggest you go in but if not call in your order first then pick up.....it's a good food trial of what time and...

the food is great but everytime I order my total is different when I get the same thing every time, the owner doesnt give out receipts either and I think its for the reason of changing the price whenever he feels like it. If you have a specific budget for lunch this place isnt reliable. I see signs promoting the specials all over the restaurant but I never got charged the price thats presented on the ads, never got a drink with any of my orders either. Theres a $1 up charge to add any toppings to the cheese steak (lettuce, jalapeños, mushrooms, etc) I called to place a phone order at 5pm on Wednesday and was told they close at 3pm on Wednesday after the owner screened my call twice👀 and it said online they were open. The food is good but I wont come back simply because of shady business....

I have been eating here for decades and their Phillly is amazing. For y’all that don’t know the owner of this restaurant he keeps his prices down so he can feed his community. I literally asked him. When are you gonna raise your prices due to inflation and he said “I’m not because this community needs me and they need these prices so they can feed their families”. This is the type of place that Mr. Hoagies, is he is not just a restaurant he is staple supporting his community that he has been in for decades. It’s never stopped to amaze… The owner is amazing this place is amazing. The jalapeño pepperoni cheesesteak is 10 out of 10. I have the record. I sat down and ate five jalapeño pepperoni, Philly cheesesteaks in 2005 at once . Come see if you can beat...
