I have been coming to this location a couple times. And it’s always something with the customer service. But today 6/24/25 we came and it was my stepdad my daughter and I. Well my daughter had already ate so ALL she went for was for a mangonada. My daughter is 12 by the way so anyway we get to ordering and when she receives her mangonada she tells me it tastes funny well I looked at it and what do you know it has alcohol when clearly I told the waitress it was for my child. She takes it away immediately and when they bring her another one virgin as the call it. I tell the lady you know you guys need to be really careful you gave my 12 yr old daughter alcohol and instead of apologizing she immediately said you should of asked for a virgin drink now tell me why would I ask for a virgin drink if its CLEARLY for a child. Who in their right mind no apology nothing instead she wanted to argue about it. I told her I was done to leave because I wanted to eat and she was still there going back and forth. OSTIONERIA MICHOACAN DO BETTER!!!! That was UNACCEPTABLE.

The establishment is nice and in order...our waiter was beyond awesome, she kept checking on us and made sure we had what we needed...the food not so good at all...my wife ordered the spicy seafood soup (caldo) and was very disappointed...she said it wasn't spicy, was mushy like it was old, not much meat, she did say the rice was really good...my civiche was really dry until I added lime juice...both of us agreed that the chile con queso lacked any flavor and had a dry chalky texture to it...the margarita tasted like there was no alcohol in it...and the napkins, if you're anything like me and use 800 in one sitting then you'll like the napkins hahaha I literally only used one and told my wife I was gonna rate them and she laughed at first then said I had a point...any we will NOT be going back to eat here again.

My go-to order is the camarones a la botana (best shrimp I've ever eaten, honestly) and the ostiones a la parilla. I also get the mixed ceviche tostada with their frozen lime margarita. This combo is a MUST and the reason why this is my favorite Mexican seafood restaurant in Houston. It has a beautiful mural painted on the dome and great live music occasionally. I have not found another Mexican Seafood restaurant that beats the seafood I get here. So, if I'm ever craving Mexican seafood, I am driving from San Antonio to this location in Houston for the order I listed above. 10 out of 10.

This restaurant is almost as close as trash as you can get. I went late on a Saturday night and there were so many people and the tables were very crowded together. However, that doesn't even begin to explain how bad the whole experience was. I was part of a big party and they set us up to sit separately as if we were two parties. When we got there, apparently it was karaoke night. To have a karaoke night isn't a problem, but to have the music so loud that the whole time you're there you have to practically lip read with your party AND with the server is a huge problem. My hearing has definitely deteriorated after spending an hour there. The service was SO bad - the food took 40 minutes to come out and it wasn't even hot (nor was it good). The plate I had ordered was supposed to come with 3 shrimps and 3 chicken strips. Instead I received 3 quite small pieces of what looked like shrimp, and 1 chicken strip and a conjoined chicken strip that they tried to pass as two (not to mention how poorly breaded and grease soaked they were). Also, In the rice I was served, there was a ball of seasoning that completely ruined my appetite. We had to wait a while for the server to come around to ask for a to go box but they had no problem being us the check. Then we had to wait another 20 minutes just to get a receipt that we had asked for in the first place and after not getting it, we had to go ask for it again only to find out that they didn't know which one was ours. The server did not deserve (or earn) more than a $5 tip yet they charged us $20 automatically. I am very disappointed with the service and very disgusted by the food served. Negative five...

This place has been here for a very long time. They have extended a bit on their bar area with extra restrooms. Although they dont have a baby changing station (I needed it to change my 4 month old and had to figure out how else to do it since there is not even enough space in there to lay her down) Their food is not bad but every time we've ordered breaded fish it tastes bad (a real fishy flavor). Their Micheladas and house fried rice are always pretty good though. Their prices are an average of $9-$15 per plate depending on what you're getting. Their service is not bad but it could be better. I think that the waitresses need to be trained better. For example, check to see if people need more refills and pick up empty plates and offer desserts all the time even though they think we might not want any (because this time we did but didn't order any because it wasn't offered). On the weekends (not sure exactly the time but it's usually in the evening) they have live music and sometimes they have mariachi (that I've seen) not sure if they still have it as last time we went it was on a Sunday from 3-6pm. They also have flat screens projecting either, soccer, baseball or football (whichever is playing, but with no sound) Overall, I would be back but for the prices, that are not that bad and for the rice that's...
