do NOT order online!!!
Lessons on how lose customers:
Today, decided to order (for the first time) from Patra's Thai Cuisine.
a) Their website states "Save 5% order online" (that 5% never exhibited itself) b) Their order online platform is Dylish. I went in and placed my order. Order received by Dylish (as confirmed by email) but only acknowledged by the restaurant 15 minutes later WHEN I ARRIVED FOR MY ORDER! Sure, the front desk is busy but this is the platform YOU CHOSE (could have used another one but decided to give theirs a go!) c) Dylish's order form for Pad Thai (Noodle Dish) is for $14.99 and nowhere does it ask for protein. When I came to pick up my order, I was asked what protein I wanted. I indicated shrimp and was asked to pay $3 (in cash please) additional. Brah, this is YOUR platform. How is it my fault? BTW, what about that 5% discount? d) The order took 35 minutes to make (that's ok - at least it's fresh). Picked it up and rushed home then I noticed the items I ordered were not correct (silly me for not checking first before leaving). Dude, this is YOUR platform: print the order and send to the kitchen e) Kitchen delivered what was on the order ticket. Seems like the lady at the front desk entered the order manually and, sadly, managed to make 2 mistakes on a 5 item order: 2 X wrong items (I ordered the shrimp spring rolls [$2 more expensive] and got the veggie ones and I ordered the Pineapple Fried rice and got the Chef's special [fortunately? same price] Side note: the spice level on the curry which I requested as "medium" (which is what I requested), it was mild at best (funny enough, the other dishes were well spiced) f) To-go portion sizes compared to what was served for "eat-in" customers (yes, there were people eating there) were woefully small. What was supposed to be an order to feed 4 people barely fed 3.
Overall food taste was ok (nothing to write home about). At least it was warm!
I "might" (you never know if my memory starts failing) come back and eat in but I will never EVER order online from this...
Read moreI tried Patra's out my 1st time about a year ago or so based on someone asking for community support for this small business place. I was pleasantly surprised and I have ordered TAKE OUT about 5 or 6 times since. Service has been slow, but considering labor shortages, they got a pass. Yesterday, I convinced my COVID weary wife to eat in for lunch if the dining room was not crowded. It was not, 2 tables occupied and a 3rd with dinners ready to leave. Ordered a couple of beers and mentioned to the server that we were hungry and new exactly what I wanted as an appetizer, Spring Rolls. She was not very "receptive" to me asking her to help me choose between the 2 Vietnamese Beers on the menu and I felt rushed and she not friendly. She disappeared and before bringing our beers, she brought the bill to the people ready to cash out. COMLETELY understandable. But then, she and the only other server went to clear and clean that SAME table. I reminded her that I wanted the Spring Rolls and in a semi-rude tone she asked if I wanted the fried or fresh. I know a lot of facial expression gets lost behind the masks, smiles included, but her tone was one of annoyance. I verified with my wife to ascertain I was not getting the wrong expression and my wife confirmed that she made an "ugly face". I asked my wife if she wanted to leave and she assented. I informed our inimical server that we wished to cancel the beers and appetizer and left... BUT not before getting the best "Thank you. Have a nice day." from the other server. We will be back BECAUSE of the other server. Our lunch tab was Over $100.00 at the Red Flame Steak and Grill nearby. Missed opportunity for Patra's. A positive review to follow...
Read moreOur whole family had dinner at Patra last night. I called them just 30 minutes ahead on a Friday night and they accommodated us and sounded glad we called. When we went in there was just one other couple there. As we waited for our family to arrive I struck up a conversation with couple having dinner. They were raving about the food! Then our family joined us as we ordered our appetizers another seven or eight tables filled up and the restaurant got busy. We ordered satay chicken, veg rolls and fried wontons for appetizers. They disappeared faster than it took them to make them. We were forewarned that the food is made after each order and it’s worth the wait. That turned out to be true. For main course, I ordered shrimp panang curry, others ordered a green curry, red curry, pad Thai all with chicken , I believe, and a couple of veg dinners. Everyone loved their food. We all ordered medium spice except one person and all of us were pleased with our food. We will frequent this clean, bright, friendly restaurant many time more because it’s proximity to us. The staff was very friendly and attentive. Even the only negative of slow service can be rationalized because we had a party of seven and the restaurant filled up as we settled down. I would strongly recommend Patra Thai. Next time, I will...
