I been going here almost weekly. Buy so many dozen, get 1 dozen free. A LOYAL neighborhood customer, and generous tipper. Usually drop a 20 as Christmas present to the lady who used to run the counter... but then.....
Today I went in, no kids so I kept it simple. I had a free dozen, which I would wake my family up to... I added 1 filling to 1 of those 12, and I also added 1 apple fritter. ( 2 special, 10 regular doughnuts - for those keeping score... they do charge "just a little" for those special ones).... then I added 1 breakfast croissant... ( add another 4 bucks) oh and 1 regular old coke.
So let's do the math.... Free + coke (an astounding $2.50) + sandwich ($4)... so I owe $6.50... wait I forgot the price of my 2 special... how much did he say? Oh yes, "just a little", MY-@$$!
My total was 15 bucks! Free + $6.50 + 1 filled and one apple fritter = $15!!!!! That means each doughnut that "special" cost me $4.75 each!
Then I go back and look at previous purchase... who spends $45 at a doughnut shop to feed 3 kids...? Poor trusting guys like me who don't think twice about paying till something so egregiously offends him enough to look again.
In short, free is not ever free here, and they WILL rip you off, just matter of you relaxing enough for them to take advantage.
The rona took down the wrong business people... these small businesses that are left are resembling the post apocalyptic folks from the walking dead... watch out for the walkers folks.... and check your bill...
I'm just happy I haven't given them this years Christmas tip... 20 bucks might have cost me $75...
Read moreThis is my favorite place for doughnuts and breakfast food. I love ordering via doordash to share with coworkers on a busy morning, or as a treat for myself. I highly recommend the glazed cinnamon twist. I've never had a doughnut as good as that one! The bacon croissant sandwiches are very good as well, and warm up well in the microwave later if you bring home extra. I love the little freebies they throw in sometimes, like adding an extra doughnut or doughnut holes to the order. It makes things special and fun and always brings a smile to my face. I'm having family visit me from another country soon and I plan on ordering from Pflugerville doughnuts when they are here because it's such a fun and special experience that I want to share. It's one of the few things I would miss if I moved away from the north...
