Where to begin! This was my first time going to Ronny G's and my last. I wanted to go because my daughter raved about the fried mushrooms and decided to go last night with my daughter and 7 month old granddaughter to enjoy their $5.99 Per Pound for 5lbs or more, as advertised on their website. When I noticed the price discrepancy, I asked Mia A., our server about it. Instead of honoring the advertised price on their website, she came back to tell me that her MANAGER said it must be a typo and that we would be charged the higher price. OKAY. That's not how customer-first establishments are run/managed. Little did I know this was actually the foreshadowing to the rest of our dining experience. We ordered the mushrooms, which were delicious, and was charged .50 cents for an extra 1 ounce ramekin of ranch. Mia A. didn't bring us appetizer plates. My daughter had to get up until the manager saw her and gave the plates to Mia to give us. My daughter ordered a side of mash potatoes for my granddaughter that never came out. We had to waive Mia A. down because she never checked on us, nor did the manager come by to see how everything was. They were out of crab, and was charged $.50 again for another 1 ounce ramekin of ranch for the cheesey bread my daughter ordered since they were out of crab clusters. 30 minutes after ordering the mashed potatoes for my granddaughter, her meal finally came out. There was no apology nor compensation, Mia A. just blamed the mistake on the kitchen. We we're not checked on once. In fact, this young lady had the worst personality. She had a terrible attitude as if she were above it all, which made it uncomfortable to ask her for the one and only thing we needed from her, which was SERVICE. We dropped $70 there for the worst service, charged for prices that should have been honored, charged $1 for extra ranch, out of food we came to eat, not served food we ordered until the end of our meal because Mia couldn't get out of her own way to check on our table. Huge disappointment. I was hoping this could be a fun place to go to that's around the corner from where I live to grab a bite to eat. I hope this review brings attention to some of the management and service deficiencies of this...
Read moreI have never written a review like this before, but my boyfriend and I wanted to try this place out as it was nearby and a small local business on March 7th around 6:30 PM. We sat and were immediately greeted and asked what we wanted to drink. We both ordered waters, but I said specifically "I'll take a water for now". That indicates we were ordering more, just not at that moment...right? After we received the waters, our waitress walked away without acknowledging us. We then sat for an additional 15 minutes, watching her serve others and walk past us, giving out checks. Not once did she speak to us again. We then decided to just walk out and leave, to which we could see her clear our table within seconds from my car. So she could notice us when we walked out, but not serve us at any point before that? I was baffled. I could understand if the restaurant was busy, but it was quite calm for a Friday evening and many people around us were not even eating. It seems like people who regularly dined there were tended to at a moment's...
Read moreI did not see crawfish or crab legs on the menu and I did not ask about those items. It seems to be a trend in Houston among the sports bars. They picture some item on the website that is not offered at the restaurant.
Nevertheless, the food here is good although my gumbo was cold. The hot dogs are excellent. The tea is not homemade. I will let you know about the items that I took to go.
My waitress, Sheri, seemed to be off her game. She forgot several things, like bringing my tea refill, napkins and that I told her that I was going to order to go later. I gave her a pass and tipped her more than 20% anyway because I am such a nice guy.
They do have pool tables and lots of TVs. Many of the patrons seemed to to know each other and the staff. I guess it boils down to this; Ronny G's is a local sports bar that sells pretty decent food. If the waitresses would take one half step up, then this place may get...
