I’m posting this so that the owner sees this and fixes the problem! I want this place to survive. The food is five stars, and definitely the best quality casual sushi around the area, BUT they can’t get the timing of orders right (it’s really bad). We have dined in the restaurant once and ordered take-out tonight.
Dine in - don’t go in a hurry or super hungry or you will devolve into hangry, but definitely go try it but be prepared to be there for at least 2 hours. All of the food was fresh and delicious but even our appetizers didn’t arrive until nearly an hour after ordering them. When we were there, two parties waited in the store for nearly an hour for their takeout orders. I thought maybe it was an understaffed night and we wanted to give them another try.
Takeout - we placed an order at 6:21pm and were told the order would be ready in 25-30 minutes. Given the previous slowness from our dine in experience, my husband went to pick up the order at 7pm instead thinking an extra 10 minutes would be sufficient given that it’s a Monday and wouldn’t be busy. But no, our order was not ready yet and he was told another 15-20 minutes. It’s currently 7:40pm...an hour and twenty minutes after placing our order and OUR ORDER IS STILL NOT READY!
Note to owner - I would be thrilled to update my review to five stars when the...
Read moreRamen is my comfort food. When trying a new place, I always have the Tonkotsu ramen to be a fair comparison. Theirs was good, probably my second favorite. The meat was tender, easy to break with chopsticks, and there was a good balance with the noodles and crushy ingredients. The broth was good. It could have been hotter. It was warm.
The hubby had his usual Beef Fry Rice, and he liked it, but the portion seemed smaller than what we are used to get in other restaurants.
In contrast, the kiddo had Beef Teriyaki, and the portion was great. It could definitely feed a 12 yr old (which, in many other places, it isn't usually the case). Since my kiddo is younger, we had leftovers to bring home.
The one faux pas is that they brought the adults food first. Ideally, the kiddos' food should always be served first to prevent issues... although I know that culturally speaking, the elders are served first as a sign of respect.
It could have a better ambiance, the entrance looks good, and there is a mural referencing Japan, but then on the main dining area are just booths and tables.
I do recommend going, the food is good with attentive service. We will return to try other options in the menu - the rolls and sushi looked great, we so many...
Read moreThis place is hands down the best place to get sushi! My bf and I finally tried this place after the soft opening and we weren't disappointed at all. It was busy at all in the inside and the vibe of the place is really nice! However, we still got to-go because of Covid and everything was beautifully packaged with nothing dripping or falling out. The staff is very friendly and patient while we were trying to decide what to get in their extensive sushi menu.
Let me tell you, the fish was so fresh, the salmon was melt in the mouth buttery soft, and the best part, for sushi, it is so affordable. Other restaurants charge way more for the amount of food both my bf and I got together! Also, I wanted to take a picture, but it was so good that we inhaled it before we could take pictures.
One thing, I'd like to recommend is to add pictures of their food on their website. I typically am a visual person and I like to see what the food looks like before I order, especially for a to-go order.
I know this place is brand new, but I hope it ends up getting the hype it deserves. As for us, this is our new sushi place and we will be regularly visiting it often! I'd also like to try their ramen and see how it is...
