Tacos that’ll make you do a happy dance! My wife and I, fresh from the sunny shores of California and newly minted Texans, have been taco-hunting in south Tomball. We stumbled upon Sabor Y Sason through a Google search, and let me tell you, those rave reviews are no exaggeration.
Here’s the lowdown on what we ordered: 2x Asada Tacos 2x Pastor Tacos 2x Birria Tacos
Every bite was a taste sensation. The pastor tacos? Oh man, they stole the show. Between Sabor Y Sason and Taco King (which we tried just days earlier), these are hands-down better than any pastor tacos I've ever had in San Jose, CA, where I’ve lived for over 40 years!
Now, birria—oh, birria. It’s the new craze back in San Jose, but my palate hasn’t quite clicked with it yet. From goat to lamb to beef, I’ve yet to find the holy grail of birria. Sabor Y Sason’s version was a step up from what I’ve experienced, but it didn’t quite hit the jackpot. The flavor was there, but the meat was a bit on the dry and stringy side. Maybe I’m just not the stewed meat aficionado I thought I was. Still, I’m curious enough to give it another go with some consome on the side.
The asada tacos were solid—well-seasoned and juicy, not a bit dried out.
And oh, the sauce packets! They’re like little taco treasure bags, and my wife couldn’t help but dub them “dime bag sauces” because of their resemblance to, well, let’s just say, unconventional packaging. Personally, I think they’re genius. Just tear off a corner and you’ve got the perfect spreadable sauce. Plus, the flavor of these sauces blows the ones from San Jose food trucks out of the water.
Sabor Y Sason is now firmly on our taco radar. Their tacos are a smidge pricier than Taco King’s—about 50 cents more per taco—but trust me, they’re totally worth it for a taco fix in the area. Give them a try; your taste buds...
Read moreSabor Y Sason is legit delicious! I got the chicken Crunch wrap with two cups of Charro beans and Green and Habanero salsa. The crunch wrap also comes with queso.
The chicken was flavorful and juicy, the veggies were fresh and the tortilla grilled to perfection. It was the perfect trifecta of soft, savory and crunchy. The salsas were dang good, especially the habanero. I was drizzling the queso and habanero salsa on every bite. The Charro beans were tasty and I’m glad I got two cups because the portions are small, but the price is right at $1.
Everything came out to $12.99. Sure you could find a cheaper taco truck out there, but that price isn’t crazy to me considering the quality of ingredients and the flavor of the entire meal. It was a very filling lunch and worth every penny, especially knowing that it’s supporting a local family.
I can’t wait to go back, and I hope they stay at this location for awhile, so go and check em out y’all! Next time I’ll be trying the...
Read more10/10 food was amazing. Me and my girlfriend found this place on a whim, after a date night at painting with a twist, I had a taste for street tacos and just casually typed in tacos near me on google, and this place popped up and wasn't far from our location, I just moved to houston 5 months ago and have yet to find good tacos but this place is by far the best I've ever had. Exceptional customer service, the owner was very nice and friendly. The tacos are so good we literally went back the next day for more. This place will definitely be our go-to from here on out... Definitely recommend giving them a try, you won't be...
