Living in Houston all my life, Mexican food is in my top 3. I usually eat at Taco stands around my house, but I decided I wanted to sit down and eat for once. We arrived an hour before they closed on a Sunday, the waitresses were very nice and attentive. I have a weakness for meat and chese, so of course I got the Queso Flamiado with fajita steak and a giant quesadilla. Boyyyyyy, that queso flamiado was sooooo good. The cheese had such a great flavor, and this restaurant gave us like 8 tortillas!! If you eat Mexican food often, you know they rarely hook you up with that many tortillas without you asking or without charging you extra. I think I will just get 2 queso flamidos next time instead of the quesadilla (although the quesadillas were also very good). If you're in the area, it's worth a shot, especially if you like cheese. Don't forget the lactaid! 🤣🤣

***UPDATE 8.1.2023 - Ridiculous charges! Never in my considerable time eating tacos has ANY restaurant charged for cilantro and onion on tacos. If this place has slipped that far that they need to add an additional charge for this, it's time to avoid returning. Sad. Continually great food and decent service makes this a nice little place to go. But the lack of an up to date point of sale system can be a down-point. Having gone several times and ordered the same thing, each time resulted in a different total price. Writing a paper ticket and then punching prices on an outdated register which is no better than a big calculator is the issue. Final ticket has no itemized charges and you just have to go on best instinct.

This place has the best pozole in town also make sure to add the jalapeños that are provided to kick up the heat level. Also the tacos al carbon are really delicious with excellent seasoning on the fajita meat so I would recommend to get them as well. I have never had a horrible experience coming here and I have even used their catering service before, where we have gotten the carne quisada. As you can see I have eaten a lot of their menu and have no idea why I haven’t reviewed them before. So check them out if you are really hungry

I've been here quite a few times over the past couple months, and I am impressed with their consistency in food quality and service. The prices are quite low, but the food does not disappoint. The atmosphere is quite basic with some tables and vinyl booths. They do have table service but you have to pay out front.

I originally came in for weekend breakfast, and the breakfast plates are quite generous for only $3.99 each. It is only a dollar more after 11 a.m., and there was enough eggs to make three breakfast tacos of course there were beans and potatoes. I really love the potatoes because they are covered in a salsa and really adds flavor. Beware, and the green sauce is quite spicy.

I usually order off the taco menu which give you a variety of meat at a base price of $1.49 each. I ordered the barbacoa tacos with cilantro and onion on a corn tortilla common I highly recommend them as they are not fatty as they commonly are. The beef fajita is chopped fine so that there are no quite tender. I also recommend a crispy , which are nice and crunchy and fresh. The chalupas are $2.49 each but are quite filling and covered with a good portion of meat.

I also recommend the soups, but not all of them are available everyday. While this is a solid place for authentic Mexican food, the Tex Mex dishes sometimes falls short of expectations.

Nevertheless, I find myself coming here multiple times a week because you cannot beat great, inexpensive Mexican food with great service. I am definitely going to be a regular...

First off, I’ve been coming here for years with my family and it has never failed me. Not perfect but “our spot”. The girls are always very kind. But…. And that’s a long but… This is the second time this week I’ve been here with my family. The first time was when the hr long storm came thru and we were without power. The fajitas tasted spoiled. I was VERY nice about it, let the girl know (assuming the manager) and she said no one else had complained and asked if I wanted something different. Now tonight we came and as ALWAYS ordered the Wednesday carnitas plate. The plate came out and the chef had shredded the meat, it did not look like carnitas at all. It literally looked like dog food. I was very thrown back because this time she tried telling me “that’s how they always look”, huh no ma’am, not always. She (the manager) didn’t apologize and grabbed the plate quickly and said they could replace it. How do you have an attitude with a family that has been coming here for years and is not happy with their plate??? Like really? We’re paying for our food, you are working in the food industry and act surprise or upset because the food looked terrible?? Make it make sense. No ma’am, that’s not right. It’s rude and out of line. Really? Not even an apology, just annoyed??? What a shame. No I didn’t eat. The way the manager acted, I couldn’t even trust the cook doing something disgusting to my food.

En primer lugar, llevo años viniendo aquí con mi familia y nunca me ha fallado. No perfecto sino "nuestro lugar". No, no comí. Por la forma en que actuó el gerente, ni siquiera podía confiar en que el cocinero hiciera algo desagradable...

So this was our second time at this place. First time was kind of rushed so we figured we give it another go. I brought my family and right off the bat there was an intoxicated man that obviously should have been cut off a long time ago. I did not appreciate when he approached my daughter; then when we received our order, it was incomplete. One of my daughters never received her food so we ended up sharing our meals with her. The food was bland, no flavor, salsas were bland, one was ice cold, food left a nasty taste in our mouths, we didn’t finish our meals and did not even want to take it to go. Then, to top it off the cashier just rang up all of our order and did not disclose that she had already added gratuity.. so I added more to it.. that was very shady.. it only came to my attention when only 2 adults plus kids ate and I end up paying close to $100!! We will never come back to this...
