Three couples celebrating my wife’s birthday. so many things went wrong it is hard to list them all. The waitress took our food order and 45 minutes later we still didn’t have our food. Flagged another waitress to find out why. She came back and said our waitress had left. She proceeded to bring us our food. About fifteen minutes, four dinners came out with no comment about the missing two dinners. After 15 minutes we flagged another waitress. She brought them out about fifteen minutes later and set them on table but did not remain to find out if everything was alright. Both dinners were not quite what was ordered. we flagged another waitress to get them replaced with the correct dinners and we told the waitress that due to all the mistakes we should not have to pay for them. This is when Kaykay the manager stepped in. No apologies, no we are sorry, just a third degree about whether the dinners had been eaten in anyway and that, in her opinion, what was served was correct. Finally the two replacement dinners were served. Then came a single check even though we had requested three. That check contained several items none of us had ordered or consumed. Then three checks came out and the two dinners which were supposed to be comped were still on there. finally, three checks came that were correct. So we all left thinking this horrible event was finally over but it wasn’t. My credit card company sends me a text when ever the card is used. When I got home, I checked my phone and saw two texts from my credit card company. One was for my meal and a second one for another charge to my account from cody’s. I called the restaurant around nine pm when I knew they were not busy. It rang about twenty five times before someone picked up and hung up. So I drove back to the restaurant and asked for the manager. Kaykay came up and I showed here where I had been charged twice. Again no apology, no I am sorry. Just the confrontational attitude from before. She went back somewhere and a few minutes later came back to tell me she corrected the issue. Again, no apology etc, she just said, in a rough manner, I fixed it. Because I had been put through so much, I said she should comp all or part of my dinner but she just got confrontational and said no because she had fixed it. I was not happy so I felt the need to go over all of the mistakes they had made. She wouldn’t let me. Everytime I started to speak she cut me off even when I asked he to let me speak. Finally she said I fixed it, turned her back to me and walked away. A few days later I decided to talk to her boss so I called the phone number listed for the corporate office. All you get is a recording. I left a message and nobody ever called me back so I rated this whole...
Read moreSADLY INCONSISTENT -- Every Friday our golf group of 4 couples plays 9 holes in the early afternoon after which we dine at a restaurant (we trust) fairly close to the course we played. In the last few months we chose to go to Cody's in Sumter Landing 4 times since we knew we could easily get a table for 8 at around 3:30 pm before the crowds came - at least that HAD been true. Yesterday, Feb. 24, we showed up at 3:30 and again Cody's was not busy - many empty tables including a few large ones. BUT, the gal at the desk said we'd have to wait 15 to 20 minutes?? After 25 minutes I asked if we our party could at least sit together at one of the empty tables (for 8) while waiting - at least we could be comfortable together and talk until being waited on. "Oh we don't do that here" I was told. I finally hailed a waitress that had served my wife and I earlier that week and asked her if our party could at least sit together at one of those empty tables while waiting. "Sure I don't see why not" she said and showed us to a table. Gee, that was easy. Within 10 - 15 minutes waitress Sylvia finally took our drink orders. She was polite but very busy. 15 minutes later w got our drinks and then she took our dinner orders. 5 minutes later she returned confused about who had ordered chowder - the 4 of us who had, confirmed and Sylvia said she'd put those soup orders in as "appetizers" so we'd be sure to get them ahead of our entrees. We appreciated that. 20 minutes later we had no soup and I started to look around for Sylvia. Someone else then came out of the kitchen with 3 orders of chicken soup(?) which we turned down and shortly after that, other kitchen strangers came with our ENTREES - but only 6 of the 8! At this point the 4 of us who had ordered chowder INSISTED they cancel our so- called "appetizer" soups while 2 of us still waited for our entrees to come. 5 more minutes and those 2 entrees and Sylvia were nowhere! I hailed an asst. mgr. who was not very helpful but she sent over a "real" mgr. (James) who made sure the hungry 2 of us FINALLY got our meal - though long after our friends had finished. We were assured by James that the 2 of us who were "inconvenienced" would only be charged half the price of each entree. We were not on the same check (4 separate checks per couple) so both of us expected to see the discount reflected on our own check. HA! The geniuses decided to erase my entree entirely while my friend was charged the regular price so the 2 of us were expected to settle things on our own - even further inconvience! Do the Cody's honchos really want 8 good customers to leave with this...
Read moreCame out here visiting family, it all started with waiting 10 minutes before we grabbed someone to ask to take our order for drinks. Then drinks took another 10 minutes to arrive, waiter forgot my drink. Then another 10 minutes went by and we went and asked our waiter if we could place or order for food. Father-in-law and mother-in law-wanted to share the steak kebabs and a salad. My wife ordered a burger and I ordered a plate of chicken strips. Food shows up after waiting another 15-20 minutes, but our waiter forgot my food and I asked for Bbq sauce. Also the waiter brought out chicken kebabs and asked, “are u guys okay just with chicken instead of beef?”, they agreed.
The waiter brings me my food after I waited about an additional 5 minutes but forgot my bbq sauce. Asked if I could get a refill of my drink also when comes back with my bbq. Waiter comes back with quick this time, about with in a minute but no refill, so I didn’t even bother reminding him. Now the bill comes and we were gonna be charged for the beef kebabs. We asked for this to be changed as we never got the beef kebabs my family ordered and got chicken instead. Father-in-law hits his breaking point and says “when u bring people the wrong food, it’s typical to just wave the item from the bill, and my son-in-law had to remind you of everything he ordered. Maybe next time bring a pen and a note pad.”
Waiter came back and gave us $4 off the order after switching the kebabs on the bill to chicken. Told us “that’s all they can do, since you guys did eat them.” I’ve worked in the service industry before and I know for a fact even if the customer eats the food that you incorrectly brought to the table you just bite the bullet and waive that item off the bill. There’s no way this dude didn’t know that he was messing up and doing a terrible job. And he probably never even talked to his manager asking for a meal to be comped for his mistake. The guy didn’t want to get chewed out by his boss.
Gave a 0% tip and never plan on coming back to this restaurant and my family that lives local is swearing off at the very least this location if not Cody’s in general. My family told me they were shocked with how bad everything was cause they came here a few weeks ago and everything was great. Also forgot the food was just really bland for everyone besides my wife, she did admit, “at least the...
