Absolutely the worst service! We went in as a party of 6 with 2 children on Saturday to watch the football game. Our server was Franklin and although he had a very pleasant personality, the service of the whole restaurant was absolutely horrible. We went in at 7:15 and waited until 7:45 for warms drinks, we had waited so long to have our drink order taken that we were able to order our food at the same time. Our appetizers were never brought to our table, we had to request them to be canceled at which time Franklin said he had forgotten to put the order in. My youngest child, who is 1, dropped his sandwich on the floor, when we requested an additional sandwich Franklin stated no problem, but we never got the other sandwich "because there was not anything he could do to expedite the kitchen". All of the food came to the table soggy and cold, as though as it had been sitting, which is had been because we waited an additional 45 minutes for food. The whole time we waited we were watching the game and it obvious that the staff wasn't concerned about us. Both of the hostess were standing at the check in desk on their cell phones, most of the serving staff was circled around the register on their phones. When we were able to finally receive our check, we paid half cash and half debit card, when we received the receipt for debit card it was charged for the full amount. When I asked why the cash wasn't deducted from the check Franklin stated there was a misunderstanding and that it would be revised. We requested to speak with the manager because the $25 was clearly being pocketed. We got to speak with a very unpleasant Barbara/ Brenda (the name is not clear to me now) she stated that there was not anything she could really do at the time for the poor service we have received. She stated that she could give us a couple of vouchers for free dessert (which we never got). When we explained to her that the money was clearly pocketed and still had not been returned she got a snippy attitude and stated that the money was taken off of the bill. She then rolled her eyes and scoffed at us. This was by far the worst experience I have every received. There was no empathy, the facility was not that busy because almost all of the staff was able to sit around on their phones. The manager was not concerned of the lack of customer service at all simply stating "this is the best I can do for you with the free dessert voucher". It is clear we will not be returning and no one should ever go to this facility. I will be following this complaint up with an email to the corporate office because no one should experience the level of horrible service...

Everything here was just ok. Nothing that I can not love without. We did get seated inside as soon as we walked in, but it took 10 minutes before someone came around to get our drinks order. Being on the water provided some nice views. We were able to walk around a little before and after we ate. We ordered the nachos and fried green beans for appetizers. It took awhile before the appetizers came out. I really enjoyed the fried green beans, really good flavor and the breading stayed crunchy. The nachos, well I can not say the same. They did have good flavor but by the time they came out all the chips were already soft. I ordered the gulf Coast bucket(fish and shrimp) and a cup of crab bisque, my wife ordered the hot wings and a side salad. Our son and daughter in-law had the Okeechobee chicken and a grilled chicken wrap. The food took about 30 minutes to come out and it did not come all out at the same time. About 10 minutes between when my food arrived at the table and when the last plate(chicken wrap) made it to the table. The fish had good flavor, I think it was Pollock. I did not care so much for the shrimp. I am all about a good batter and staying crisp but to me it seemed the shrimp was all batter with no flavor. The crab bisque came out about 5 minutes after the fish, not sure what the delay was on it? They poured sherry on top and did not mix it in, so my first taste was all Sherry and I was done with the bisque. My with stired everything and said it tasted ok but I already had the taste of sherry and was done with it. My wife said the wings were just ok. She did have a couple of wings that still had 4 or 5 of the feather hairs in them. This kind of turned her off from the wings. Our son and daughter in-law said their food was just ok also. The waiter seemed more concerned with the tables that were drinking alcohol than ours so we sat with refills during our meal until we were able to...

We were told the wait was 35 mins for a table outside. We sat at the bar while we waited, purchased drinks (4 of us) plus nachos. Our table was ready earlier than they said (great!), when we were setting our tab at the bar, the bar tender Z (Tyler) who was great said we could square up and take our drinks to the table. We got to our table and the server said ‘we are not going to serve you because you brought drinks to the table and we were not supposed to’. (Contradicting to what to what the bar tender advised us). We waited, our nachos were brought by one of the bar tenders and no one ever waited on us. The waiter who said she would not serve us, walked by 5 times with not even a look at us. We asked her again if we would be served, she said no. Two people from our party went in at separate times to ask if we could get service- the first time we were told someone would be right out. Then my dad went in after waiting another 15 mins with zero acknowledgment, upset of course, and used a higher tone and perhaps not the nicest words (obviously at this point we are upset at the service we received since we sat at our table). The lady proceeded to come back and say we are kicked out. Another lady came and said, let me get the manager. We waited for her and explained the situation. She said as empathetically she would have a discussion with you the server who treated us so poorly and that how she acted was not was not appropriate. At the time I said regardless, we are not going to be staying but wanted to explain to explain what, happened so perhaps it does not happen again. We left to dine at another location on the water. It’s unfortunate as my parents dined here the Sunday previous and loved it, complete opposite experience, but they did not sit at...

RJ Gators is a nice restaurant at Lake Sumter Landing in The Villages, FL. On our most recent visit, we arrived about 7:30 on a Friday evening. The place was busy, but not terribly crowded. We waited for about 15 minutes before being seated. The service was relatively prompt, although we did have to wait a while for our meal to arrive. It took almost 30 minutes, which given the crowd was not really necessary. So I'm assuming the kitchen was running behind. We ordered the she crab bisque fried alligator, and RJ Burger. The she crab was flavorful and tasty, although it was quite thick, even for a bisque. The wife had never tried the alligator before, and she enjoyed it. If you've never had gator, it tastes a lot like chicken (with a very slight fishy taste), but has the consistency/texture of shrimp or lobster tail. The RJ burger was just that..a burger. Definitely nothing to write home about, and in fact, the meat could have been seasoned a lot more. Unfortunately, it was rather flavorless. The wait staff was pleasant, but not overly friendly. And, again, it took quite a while for the food to arrive. The menu has also increased the prices since the last visit, so it's getting a bit expensive to visit. The portion sizes were reasonable. All in all, a nice visit and a decent place, but nothing spectacular to write home about. Other than a special occasion, I don't know that I would make this a regular place to eat at. Other than the novelty of eating alligator (or frogs legs if you so choose), there's just simply nothing to make this place stand out.

This experience went better than the last time we were there. Our server was attentive and our orders were accurate. Food was cooked properly and tasted good and lunch specials are a good value. One thing to note is that on the pick 2 option you get to pick one thing from column A and one thing from column B and the column A stuff is all in up charge except for one item. I figure if you're going to give people some choices at least give them more than one that they don't have to pay extra for. That being said, the quesadilla was good and Hardy and filled with lots of chicken. The she crab soup was good and filling. The restaurant was a little bit chilly but I prefer that to be in hot and humid. We sat inside since outdoor seating on the high tops is just a little bit tight in my opinion and music was playing when we left and it was a little bit loud and the high tops are very close to the performer. But the biggest reason that I didn't want to sit outside was most of the tables had some of the chairs in the sun and it was a little too hot and sunny and people smoke out there. And with tables that close together, there's no way I would enjoy food with people smoking. Unlike Illinois, Florida has not yet adopted that you can't smoke within so many feet of outdoor dining. That's a shame because a nicer weather we would prefer to sit out there. All in all it was a good experience and we are likely to go back.
