Cellar Twenty Four — Restaurant in The Woodlands

Beware. I was here for a friends birthday; the place itself is really cute, and if you ignore the owners chillingly cold, bone-dry demeanor, the atmosphere is actually really nice. However, what wasn't very nice was the outrageous, underhanded and frankly quite appalling bill they received for the evening. A HUGE warning to anyone looking to patronize this business... the owner adds WILDLY excessive surprise charges onto the bill after-the-fact. I was literally in shock when I learned that almost $500 worth of “additional fees” were tacked onto the bill on top of the wine consumed and paltry charcuterie spread provided. This was absolutely NOT disclosed, nor even eluded to beforehand. I would be curious to know what the difference is between simply “walking in” with a large group of people, versus whatever the owner considers to be a “party” that she is hosting. It would seem to me, she would be content with the business of the 10+ people patronizing her establishment, but it looks like charging for the space a customer occupies in her facility to consume her products is more lucrative. Needless to say, I will NEVER recommend this establishment to anyone else, and now that I am aware of the shamefully-excessive “party charge” that was tacked on afterwards, I can guarantee the owner that I will bring no friends or family of mine to the place ever again. VERY disappointing. Shame on you. There’s a difference between being high-end/expensive and being flat-out absurd. I’m afraid the owner of this establishment is the latter. I LOVE LOVE Cellar24. It’s not only a great wine bar for wines by the glass but a specialty wine store. Shelli Moran, the owner, is a Level 2 Sommelier and has chosen her inventory of wines from select vineyards. I don’t need Spec’s, Total Wine, or Twin Liquors. Shelli can offer fantastic finds for my particular palette and will get wines I prefer at comparable prices. Returning from Italy recently, she was able to acquire some fabulous wines I had there that other stores could not get for me. We also enjoy Taco Tuesday, Trivia night, weekend music but the wine classes and dinners bringing in winemakers from across the country are fantastic. She is also passionate about giving to veterans and Wheel Chairs for Warriors or anything “First Responder”are regularly planned events that are not only fun but moving. Don’t miss out on this hidden little gem in Sterling Ridge. Grab a bottle from the shelf, have a glass from her wine menu, and kickback on the couch petting Maverick. Cellar 24 is a total win for...

Cellar 24 is a small intimate location to have boutique wines and small bites. The owner Shelli is a level 2 sommelier who hand picks the wines including the wine club selections each month. Taco Tuesday is a fun way to relax starting with a glass of wine and chips and homemade salsa. Then dive into homemade tacos where u can mix and match your favorite 3 types of tacos. Wednesdays and Thursdays are a great time to sample new wines and have small bites and are often quieter than Tuesdays. Live music on Fridays is a great way to relax. Shelli has several good choices of wine by the glass. If going as a group she can guide you to a bottle you will love. Once she knows the wines you enjoy she can offer new wines based on their varietal and tasting notes.
