Let me just start by saying I've never been to a ramen place that I do not like. That being said, I was really excited to try this place because of all the good reviews on Google and Yelp.
My buddy had the seafood ramen, and I had the spicy tantan men to start. My friend said his seafood ramen was "O.K." best, and really only enjoyed the octopus. My tantan men was honestly inedible. I tried, I really tried to eat it but only got about three bites in before I started feeling nauseous. Completely confused, and slightly embarrassed I went up to the cashier/host and explained that I may have ordered something I didn't like before that the dish just wasn't made right. I asked if I could please maybe get a discount on a different menu item or a substitution. Instead of answering my question she just rang me up for the other dish I wanted to try. In total. I ended up paying about $30 for one very mediocre ramen that had discolored beef, and one completely inedible tan-tan men. 💢😡
As for the atmosphere, it is not very cozy, and almost seems like some kind of pizza joint. The place seems like it was just kind of thrown together. Also, despite the fact that I love country music, it was slightly off putting being in a ramen joint with Luke Combs playing. Overall the atmosphere was not terrible, just very odd.
Personally, I would not recommend anybody to this restaurant that truly appreciates ramen and pho. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere slightly more tasteful...
Read morePros: amazingly delicious ramen, amazingly delicious rice bowls, tasty skewers, tiny market section with drinks, desserts, and alcohol, very easy to order, picture menu on the wall, large portions, good value Cons: limited parking, service varies from ok to great, it ain't cheap (you're paying for quality and size)
I think this is the best ramen I've ever had; really love their classic tonkatsu, curry chicken, and kakuni old fashioned ramens. They have very tasty curry chicken don, yakitori don, buns and skewers too. You just order at the counter, take a seat and they bring it to you. They also have a really cool market-like section where you can buy ice cream, cake, sake, Japanese kitkats, ramune, and other treats--just grab them and take them to the register. Almost every time I go they get part of my order wrong, but the food tastes so good I end up not caring. This place is a real gem; I 100% recommend...
Read moreI mean, it's good, but they just can't cook the eggs right to save their lives. I've been here several times, and the eggs are hard boiled every. Single. Time. They just don't know how I guess. Getting that egg right is kind of important if you're going to call yourself a Ramen place. Aside from that, the Ramen is good. Tip: if you're the type who gets more ramen to load into your broth after finishing the noodles, they offer more noodles for $2, which is quite reasonable. BUT... they have a $5 minimum for credit cards, and you pay at the counter when you order. So if you want to buy more noodles later, that's a separate $2 charge, which doesn't meet their $5 minimum for credit cards. I had to buy 3x extra noodles just to meet their minimum. Point is, buy the extra noodles ahead of time. I will be back. They're not perfect, but good enough for when I want a decent lunch away...
