UPDATE 3 months: The housing market is collapsing & is owned by corporations & unless you have $5k to move and a 560 credit score you're done. Electric/Gas are only going to increase ERCOT said. We're beating the system by staying herehis is a family establishment & by family I mean the staff and their guests. If you're nice, they're nice and will work with you. Feel blessed if you get to stay here.
⭐Week 4: Running out of space to update my review so I'll be simple (I can just have my 15 and 16 year old write honest reviews themselves if they want on their Google accounts. We're a family of writers anyways, which is probably why I am in the top 10% of Google restaurant reviewers - not sure how that plays into this review but whateve).
What I learned this week: The staff are honest & cordial as are members of management. Thanks to their low rates I have finally been able to save up almost half of the money I need to move into my new house in just 3-4 week. That wouldn't have been possible if it weren't for the morning manager on last Sunday. Thank you for believing me & checking with your employee. I apologize for the duress i caused, Ma'am.
⭐Week 3: I've discovered a community of caring and loving people. It's like this: There's long term stays and short term stays. Long terms are the elite (kind & quiet). If you find yourself here long term, be proud of where you stay because the group of long term stays make it worth it. I've seen more kindness from the staff and community than I ever saw in my 8 years at my last house.
⭐Week 2: Decided to make it a 3 week stay! Cheaper rate after you stay longer with pets and their promotions! I added these dinner photos today because I want to remind you YOU CAN MAKE THIS A HOME AWAY FROM HOME with the stuff they givOur close proximity to HEBs low-cost delicious food makes it possible to make five star cuisine in your suite! I spent $25 on this and it's a goat cheese butterfly pork chop stuffed with cilantro. (And hopefully you're lucky enough to get checked in by one of my 2 favorite employees. Look for red braids. UPDATE : SHE HAS TAKEN OUT HER PRETTY RED BRAIDS AND IT'S JUST NOW HAS HER NATURAL LIGHT BROWN HAIR BUT IT IS SO LONG AND SO BEAUTIFUL.. ♥️) BTW this is a safe location to anyone worried.
⭐Week 1: I'm not really sure why this location only gets 3-ish ⭐. I'm going to give you the God's honest truth: this is a place where you can afford to stay. Anybody and everybody can — and when I say anybody and everybody can, stay do stay here.
The amenities in my room on the 3rd floor are up to date and quite comfortable. But do you want to know what's more comfortable? Having this team of staff members just a phone call away.
I honestly can't tell who is the manager and that's because they are all so knowledgeable and treat each other's as equals. I would probably make them all managers if I had the ability.
Your question is what does it take to make a manager for a location like this: endurance, happiness, a smile & the willing to go above & beyond with a service smiling all the time.
Once upon a time we thought of these places as "mehh" but it's 2024 and in this economy it is 5 out of 5 ⭐ but I assure you this is the farthest thing from that.
If you're like me and you lost everything in current floods, or have a horrific landlord and you need a cheap place to stay for a week, a month, heck even a year, then come here and make this your home away from home.
To finish up, I can't say enough about the staff honestly. Morning, noon or night they are ready to help you. Do not look over this place. Hardwood floors (at least on the 3rd floor) and yes it's really real wood. When I walk into that main office, I know they will have what I need they will find it (ie fitted sheets). If you treat human beings with respect right off rip, you will receive it from them. It is in my humble opinion that every single person here should get a $3.75 raise, and I'm hoping that they're already each making $15 an hour. This place is fantastic. Its dog show season so you need...
Read morethis motel would have gotten five stars, If my review would have reflected the staff alone especially Mrs. Maggie. for reference I’ve stayed here for about 10 days. The building itself is pretty old and there are three floors with one elevator in the middle and three staircases on each side of the building and in the middle. Each room has one large window That can be opened just a few inches to get in fresh air without letting in unwanted strangers. There is a laundry room next to the front desk with about six washing machines and six dryers, each machine charges about $3 per wash. The longer you stay the less you’ll be paying per night. One night is about $65 (as of March 2024)But if you’re staying for a month for example, one night goes down to about $35 per night. If you have a pet, it’s an extra $10 a night. Each room has a bed, A nightstand, a desk with a very dirty chair on wheels covered in white stains…another chair, an old TV, a small office fridge ,a small kitchen sink, two Electric stovetops, and a small microwave.I’ve seen many reviews complaining about the rooms condition, smell, cleanliness, etc. which I personally don’t understand. People are paying a fraction of what they would pay at a high end hotel, but are expecting to get the same service as if they are paying in the hundreds if not thousands of dollars per night. To say that I haven’t experienced any problems wouldn’t be true The first room I got was either occupied by someone else or never been cleaned before I got the room. when I first entered I found a used cup on the table, bed sheets were untucked and dirty, garbage‘s were full and more. But Mr. Ruby who is very professional and kind by the way- apologized and gave me a different room on the third floor right away. The new room was cleaned to a degree, but when I untucked my sheets, I discovered dirt and unidentified “stuff” on the sheets. Since it was already midnight I decided to sleep my first night on top of the covers. The next day I met Mrs. Maggie. She is AMAZING! besides of professional appearance and manners she really gives you the feeling that she cares. She gave me a discount for the first night and changed my sheets. My room had a very strong smell of cigarettes and weed, even though it is a non-smoking room. I sterilized everything I could, and sprayed Lysol air sanitizer, at least once a day, which helped reducing the smell. If you want clean towels, sheets, new garbage bags, more toilet paper or shampoo, you need to go to the front desk and ask for it. There is a housekeeping service for an additional fee or if you’re staying for more than a week you get it for free supposedly once a week. I stayed two weeks and no housekeeping stopped by. But if you have your own broom and floor mop, it’s not too bad. one of the two stove tops I had was broken, so that left me with one operative stove top. I’ve read about 12 negative reviews referring to the hot water situation, and at first when I hopped in the shower and turned the handle all the way to the left as someone would normally do there was no hot water… I waited for over 20 minutes with no change. then I tried all the way to the right for about 20 minutes, also cold water with no change. But I figured it out! I’m not sure if it’s in every room or just in room 305- BUT IF YOU WANT HOT WATER YOU NEED TO TURN THE HANDLE TO THE MIDDLE!!Not all the way to the left/right…I hope that helps future residents. Supposedly there should be free breakfast every morning that consists of coffee, tea, oatmeal, and a muffin. When I was there the only thing they had every morning was tea for all 10 days. They told me they have ordered the rest, but it was being delayed… I did have three incidents of people knocking on my door, one time in the middle of the night, but that was about it. Overall I would recommend staying here, if just for the staff alone. You do get what you pay for as far as the rooms go, and there are some other in the area that are about the same price if you’re staying for less than a week. But overall, it’s a...
Read moreTravelers beware! I checked in around 9pm after traveling all day, and paid for the entire 2 1/2 weeks I planned to stay in town for business upon check-in. (so not a special prepaid rate or anything, just the normal rate) Then I went to bed and the next morning took a very cold shower that never got warm and saw the room in the daylight for the first time and it was disgusting. There was a dining table but no chair. The in-room fridge was rusty. The shower had barnicles and mold chunks hanging from the ceiling above it. There was a wire rack to hang clothes (instead of a closet) and no hangers, and the dresser was missing the knobs and were dirty inside the drawers so there was nowhere to sit or put my clothes. So I went and talked to the front desk and asked if I could check out and be refunded, and was told yes, but the manager would have to do it later that day. I gave it some thought and decided to go somewhere else instead. So I got my stuff out and turned in my room key and "checked out" and went to a different hotel. (this is important as they refused to check me out so they could keep my money and not refund me. So I was shown as checked-in the entire time event though I left less than 12 hours after check in)
When I called back that afternoon to confirm I was checked out and the refund was coming since I got no email about either, I was told they don't do refunds and would be leaving me checked in for the duration I paid for and keeping my $850. Nowhere on the receipt or on the wall of the front desk or on the website did it say NO REFUNDS, so I am not sure how they can legally lie and steal hundreds of dollars and just say "sorry, no refunds."
When I disputed it with the hotel manager and their District Manager (who told their staff that they don't ever refund) I was given the number to their corporate offices to try them instead. Guest Relations also said they would refund me and an executive would be contacting me to apologize and again no refund or phone call ever came. So I followed up again today and was told they talked to the District Manager (the thief) and that person decided to deny the refund so there is nothing they can do. Why would you ask the person who did the crime to approve it or not? So no one from "corporate" ever reached out or confirmed things and they were happy to just ignore it like I'd just go away after they stole over $800 from me.
So since they left me showing as checked-in the entire time I wasn't there, (aka fraud) they denied my refund and kept my $850 even though I was there for less than 12 hours. (aka theft) This was literal theft and fraud, pure and simple, and it is shameful business practices to steal from customers. This wasn't like accidentally overcharging or charging a penalty fee, this is like grand theft. I will NEVER stay at one of these hotels again and I'd urge others to strongly consider it before paying the full expected rate upon check in or in advance as they will steal your money if they can. Travelers...
