Very limited menu. I guess I was expecting more than just tacos and burritos. The beans were okay.. black beans not being my favorite, actually, I am not a bean lover at all. I had the shredded chicken burrito and it was just okay, at best. The chips and guacamole were okay. I prefer my chips super thin and crispy and these were definitely homemade, but thicker than I like. The guacamole was okay, but could have been seasoned better. Everything could have been seasoned better. The hot sauce that came with the burrito was, again, okay. It was bland and needed garlic and salt. It came with a green sauce and a red salsa, again, bland and in need of garlic and other seasonings. Neither of them were hot or spicy. Pretty much the food was just bland and blah. The atmosphere was okay, more of a take out place. There were no salt or pepper shakers on the tables and they only had the small salt packets along with the straws and plastic ware, no pepper anywhere to be found, but the napkins were "organic" so if that is important to you, then you will be happy. I don't think we will be going back and I give this place about 6 months before it closes. I think it is owned by the same people who own La Cocina de Roberto. We have eaten there once and, again, it was so/so. Don Chuy's did have breakfast items, but it was too late to get breakfast, so I cannot...
Read moreI stopped in here to pick up a business call and grab food otw home after a long work week. I had heard great things but I have far higher standards than you average consumer so I was a bit hesitant. Plus we are a family of 7 and as much as I love cooking for my family this hard working Mama needs a break in the kitchen too from time to time. I informed the gentleman who greeted me to please be patient I was uncertain as it was my first time. He gave me some great suggestions and I left with what felt like a little of everything but my pocket didn’t feel the effect which was a huge plus for me. I got home and mannn it only got better from there. Everything was fresh, well packaged, and great quality. The carne asade was some of the best I’ve had, green sauce yummmm. I am looking doresrd to coming back and trying the Barbaracoa out on a Saturday. Sorry no pictures, I didn’t expect the food to be that incredibly good but will certainly post a pic next visit! This is definitely going into rotation at our house for the long work nights I don’t want to cook...
Read moreI went in optimistic hoping for something great and left with an awful experience today.
I Ordered a carne asada torta, a quesadilla, and some queso Blanco with chips. Total was over 40 dollars, which if the food was awesome I might not complain.....it wasn't....But ill get to that next....
This was a takeout order, I get home and realized I was shorted the torta. I hopped in the car, went back and it's sitting on the counter, left out of the bag. I get a timid "I'm sorry" and handed the sandwhich. If I had more time I would have had them remake, but I'm in a rush and have wasted enough time at this point.
The quesadilla was fine (only reason the food isnt rated 1 star overall), but the torta was terrible. The torta was 70% black beans 30% carne asada. What i left with that day was a sad, cold, bean sandwhich, but even at peak freshness, this would not be good.
For the price you pay, there are better options available.
There is no way I'm...
