Very limited menu. I guess I was expecting more than just tacos and burritos. The beans were okay.. black beans not being my favorite, actually, I am not a bean lover at all. I had the shredded chicken burrito and it was just okay, at best. The chips and guacamole were okay. I prefer my chips super thin and crispy and these were definitely homemade, but thicker than I like. The guacamole was okay, but could have been seasoned better. Everything could have been seasoned better. The hot sauce that came with the burrito was, again, okay. It was bland and needed garlic and salt. It came with a green sauce and a red salsa, again, bland and in need of garlic and other seasonings. Neither of them were hot or spicy. Pretty much the food was just bland and blah. The atmosphere was okay, more of a take out place. There were no salt or pepper shakers on the tables and they only had the small salt packets along with the straws and plastic ware, no pepper anywhere to be found, but the napkins were "organic" so if that is important to you, then you will be happy. I don't think we will be going back and I give this place about 6 months before it closes. I think it is owned by the same people who own La Cocina de Roberto. We have eaten there once and, again, it was so/so. Don Chuy's did have breakfast items, but it was too late to get breakfast, so I cannot...

I stopped in here to pick up a business call and grab food otw home after a long work week. I had heard great things but I have far higher standards than you average consumer so I was a bit hesitant. Plus we are a family of 7 and as much as I love cooking for my family this hard working Mama needs a break in the kitchen too from time to time. I informed the gentleman who greeted me to please be patient I was uncertain as it was my first time. He gave me some great suggestions and I left with what felt like a little of everything but my pocket didn’t feel the effect which was a huge plus for me. I got home and mannn it only got better from there. Everything was fresh, well packaged, and great quality. The carne asade was some of the best I’ve had, green sauce yummmm. I am looking doresrd to coming back and trying the Barbaracoa out on a Saturday. Sorry no pictures, I didn’t expect the food to be that incredibly good but will certainly post a pic next visit! This is definitely going into rotation at our house for the long work nights I don’t want to cook...

I went in optimistic hoping for something great and left with an awful experience today.

I Ordered a carne asada torta, a quesadilla, and some queso Blanco with chips. Total was over 40 dollars, which if the food was awesome I might not complain.....it wasn't....But ill get to that next....

This was a takeout order, I get home and realized I was shorted the torta. I hopped in the car, went back and it's sitting on the counter, left out of the bag. I get a timid "I'm sorry" and handed the sandwhich. If I had more time I would have had them remake, but I'm in a rush and have wasted enough time at this point.

The quesadilla was fine (only reason the food isnt rated 1 star overall), but the torta was terrible. The torta was 70% black beans 30% carne asada. What i left with that day was a sad, cold, bean sandwhich, but even at peak freshness, this would not be good.

For the price you pay, there are better options available.

There is no way I'm...

The food here is great — we enjoy the carne asada and carnitas. But the to-go experience was frustrating. We called in a large order: 4 lbs of carnitas, 2 lbs of carne asada, and 4 lbs of tortillas. Over the phone, I also requested cilantro, onion, salsa, and limes. When I picked up the order, I asked if everything was complete, and the person at the counter assured me it was. The receipt only showed 2 lbs of tortillas, but I was in a hurry and trusted them. Everything was packed in plastic containers inside a plastic bag tied with a knot so it was hard to tell what was actually in there. Once we got home (about 30 minutes away), we realized we didn’t receive any tortillas or limes at all. Very disappointing — especially after double-checking at pickup. If you’re ordering to-go, I strongly recommend opening the bag and verifying everything yourself before you leave. Don’t rely on the staff to get it right.

I have gone two times to Don chuys. The first time I was going with the intention to try out a taco of carnitas and a taco of barbacoa then get 1 lb. of the one I liked to go. Well I got both tacos with corn tortillas and neither one impressed me enough to order to go. The barbacoa was the better of the two. The carnitas are basically shredded pieces. Somewhat salty and very greasy. The salsas are bland and not spicy at all. The second time I went was this past weekend. I followed through and ordered 1 lb. Of carnitas and a 1 lb of barbacoa. Hmm same story. The carnitas were very greasy and mostly fattie parts and the same was for the barbacoa. It's gonna be a pass for me. They are affiliated to La cocina de Roberto and that says it all. Food is very similar except they make tortillas at this location. And they don't have the very pretty girls attending you.

Real Mexican food done right — no fluff, no shortcuts. Stopped in to Don Chuy Tortilleria and I’m already plotting my next visit. The moment you walk in, you can tell they’re proud of where they come from. Bright mural, vibrant local artwork, clean setup, and the smell of fresh tortillas I went for the barbacoa by the pound, plus a birria gordita and a shredded chicken gordita. You can see the whole kitchen doing its thing—no mystery, just good food. Bonus points for the salsa fridge and homemade tortilla packs to-go. It’s like they want you to keep the party going at home. Haven’t even tried breakfast yet, and I’m already giving this spot a strong 5 stars. I’ll be back for the chorizo and eggs, maybe a little pozole!
