I had the worst ever experience with your store. I’ve been going here for years and it’s the same employees but today for whatever reason Andrea was so rude! I mean I’ve never been treated like this! I had an online order. I pull up to retrieve it and she said she has no record of my order and didn’t believe me! Asked me if I had the right location, starts to tell me the address. I said yes. Then asked if I had the right date. I said yes. I then offered to pull up my receipt/order as I paid for it. She said ok well I don’t have record of it and for me to call corporate. And said they were out of we r out of beignets anyway. I said okay then just give me the kolaches I ordered and a refund for those. She said “I can’t give you a refund for it either” I said well then give me something in place of it? she said she can’t. So disrespectful. So then I got upset because does she expect me to just say okay? No refund no product? She said yes for me to go to corporate. I asked if she can please make this right with an extra kolache and donut something that adds up to what I paid for? She then said fine but with an attitude shook her head as she closed the window. I then asked her please give me her name. I took my phone out to scan the QR code on the window. She assumed I was recording her, which is silly because it wasn’t even facing her. It was facing the QR code on the window. I said I’m not recording you I’m scanning the QR code and I want to report you, what is your name? She then refused to give me her name. And closed the window on me! At that time, the car behind me started honking her horn so loud making a scene screaming out of her window just asked to speak to the manager and move on. So I had to scream since she closed the window…Can you please give me your manager then? she turned around, grabbed the manager. He walks up to the window immediately says “do I need to call the cops on you?” I said no I’m just asking for your employee name. He said Andrea and I said thx you bye your employees need to learn how to speak to your customers. This was so out of line,...
Read moreIf you're new to the Houston area - please don't think this place represents what Shipley's is really like.
I've been to this location several times and they never have fresh glazed donuts. So now they get a 1 star and I make it my last time.
I asked the guy what time I'd have to get there to get hot glazed and he gave me the typical answer people give when they don't have good reasons or excuses - "it depends". I asked for an estimate. He literally told me "...at 5am when they make them. We have to sell the ones we have before we make more..."
So owner, let me clue you in as to why Shipley's (well, not your Shipley's) is the top donut franchise in the Houston area. Just one reason. HOT FRESH GLAZED DONUTS.
That's it. That's all you have to do. But if you can't do that, it's not a real Shipley's. It's... well, as others have said in their reviews, just an average donut shop. If you like being average, keep it up. You get 5 stars for that.
Want to see how a good Shipley's is run? The one at Washington and Westcott inside the loop has hot fresh glazed no matter what time we go in. It could be 8am or 11:30am. They're so hot you have to let them cool down.... that's the Shipley's we...
Read moreThis is a good location and the next closest one to me. I will absolutely pass up the one rt around the corner from me at 25417 Hufsmith Kuykendahl to come to this one. This location has fresh donuts, great friendly service, and I constantly see them cleaning. The young man often there on Saturdays when I go practices proper procedures with money handling vs food.
I support this location and advise others in the area to. Stay away from the 25417 Hufsmith Kuykendahl location unless you like stale hard donuts with a large complimentary order off bad service and attitude.
This location has fresh soft donuts even at noon and a professional staff that is pleasant and knows how to treat customers. Keep up the great work! Wish you...
