Several weeks ago, I stopped at this McDonald's on my birthday, which otherwise was great, but this trip to my favorite fast food restaurant was a soured point. I don't like going through drive throughs after the long lines we endured during COVID and the window on my car wasn't working, so going inside to order was a natural choice. I used the kiosk to make my order and was nearly finished when a lady from behind the counter called out and said that the dining room is closed and I would have to make my order in the drive thru. I wasn't given a reason why it was closed and I was disappointed, but I didn't want to give up on my birthday treat, so I got back to the car and went to the drive thru, leaving enough room to open the door and stand in front of the speaker. I waited, and waited, and waited. All the while, a thunderstorm started approaching from the north. Still no one responded. Another customer pulled up in the other drive thru and she ended up waiting too. I'm normally a patient person, but the impending storm had me in a hurry to avoid it and I had been waiting 10 minutes standing beside the car at this point, so I blew the horn but there was still no answer. Two more minutes and another honk, still no answer. I was about ready to leave and drive 25 minutes to the Cairo McDonald's to salvage my birthday dinner plans, when they finally answered, after almost 20 minutes! Normally, the service at this location is decent, but the employees on duty that day left a bad impression on sending someone out to the drive thru and leaving that someone waiting at the drive thru outside his car with an impending storm for almost 20 minutes. I've worked in the fast food industry and almost always tried to make sure the customers in drive thru were seen about. Even if I wasn't working the drive thru or had just clocked out, I would try to make sure the customer was seen about by checking on their order or going to get someone who could to attend to them. It makes a customer's wait time a little better knowing that they were seen about. Sending a customer to the drive thru when the customer's order was nearly completed then leaving said customer at the drive thru for 20 minutes with no one in front of him, regardless of weather, is not ideal service. Thankfully, the food is still good, otherwise, I wouldn't be...
Read moreI've always used the drive thru at this location. Never been inside so my review will reflect that. Latest trip was "ehh" at best. For the third visit in a row, they were out of multiple menu items with NO notice anywhere. 🤷♀️ We wouldn't have waited for 5 minutes in the lane to order had something been posted. We ordered then was told the items were out. It is a common courtesy to let patrons know when you are out of menu items. Normally, I would just write off an outage as a typical business day. Things happen . . . supply ran out due to an unplanned increase in traffic . . . cooler went down . . Etc. but this is a repeated issue for this location. It's on the busiest road in the area and the management can't get the ordering right?! 🤦♀️ Come on. I don't buy that. Get your act together. As for customer service . . . Well, it is usually tolerable (some very nice, some just plain rude). There are a few really amazing employees that treat customers like they are glad to see them. 🤩 And they are the main reason I keep returning, along with the rocking kitchen help. 🏆 The food is delicious and in true original McD's form. (Like, the absolute best for sure.) This visit, the attendant mumbled and had to repeat herself multiple times to be heard. Lack of enthusiasm was the least of her issues. And the food was "aight". Yes, they took great care to get our 3 special order sandwiches right. 🍔 Which is outstanding! 🎉🎉 That never happens at any location, so it was very appreciated. 👍The fries were not so lucky. The large packages had less than a small order serving in them and they were cold. Not even room temperature . . . COLD.🥶 I wish I had checked them before pulling into traffic. I assumed they'd be hot since they paid such attention to the sandwiches. I was wrong. My fault for not checking, but again . . . Come on! ✨️I happily return to this location, even if the employees have bad attitudes. 😠I will look forward to the hot sandwiches, fixed correctly . . . and hope for hot fries. 🍟 I know everybody has a bad day. (Me included) I'm posting this simply to let the owners/mgrs and employees know that somebody is paying attention. I know you can and have done better and I eagerly look forward to experiencing your awesomeness again in the near future. Let's get back on track and rock it out! Y'all can do it. Prove...
Read moreThe staff was all dressed unprofessionally, one had music playing on his phone and shirt untucked and was drinking soda in the kitchen and didn’t wash his hands before going back to cooking. I saw him right outside the door smoking when I came in so I hoped he washed his hands then! One had on crocs in the kitchen… The new young lady seemed to be under trained and couldn’t remember what she needed to do and didn’t move very fast at anything. The man who seemed to be the manager Jamie I think kept talking loud and saying how understaffed they were and how new the girl was. This is the first time I have been back here in 5 years. It’s sad that we have to leave town to get McDonalds! Another guy walked in and started taking orders and seemed polite with good customer service skills I think his name was Joe and he moved with urgency! The tables are all dirty and instead of cleaning or helping the new girl just stands around looking. They need a good trainer to come in here and get this place in shape even if they need to close while they train! There are no drinks or condiments or anything in the dining area. The woman’s bathroom had what looked like blood splatter on the wall (see pic) They are only taking cards, no cash. I would help train their customer service and cleaning!! This place has a bad reputation all over town and that’s sad because they have a good location and could do well! Parents, customer service and cleaning training...
