I will never order from here again. I ordered a chicken and broccoli lunch special and came and picked it up a little bit late when I arrive she said I did not place the order although I have the log in my phone where I called her and spoke to her. She proceeds to argue with me whether or not I placed the order when clearly she either gave my order away or she never put the order in. Then she tries to overcharge me for the lunch special because it's after 3:00! I will never order from here again I have been a good customer for over a decade, I've soent hundreds if not a thousand eating here! I'm done with liang's garden! I have no incentive to lie it's not like I prepaid for the order and was trying to steal food. All she had to do was put my order in at the right price. I would have gladly waited. But she was disrespectful. Tired of these people taking money from blacks and disrespecting us! This was dumb reason to lose a great customer.

The food was very very flavorful; it was my favorite. The rice wasn’t too salty and it was a nice moisture, with small shrimp. The orange chicken was very good and even had a nice spice to it 😋. I just didn’t like that the majority of the pieces of chicken were the coating, not actual chicken. The Lo MEIN was also very flavorful (had carrots, bean sprouts, carrots, onion, mushrooms, celery, and shrimps). I personally would have liked if the noodles were a bit drier (but my mom liked how moist it was). No regrets though. 👌 On top of that, the order was ready quickly. Definitely recomendéd and will come again!

Worse food. Thought I'd try because of high ratings but I must of ordered on the night the cook was sick or something. Ordered orange chicken. Looked like a recieved a large size portion for the money but in the picture you can see just 3 pieces of the chicken with the enormous amount of breading next to it. 80% breading! The sauce taste like it's made with ketchup. The vegetable egg roll was pretty decent but the regular egg roll was so greasy that it literally fell apart. Don't see why the high ratings.

Review Title: Longtime Customer Deeply Disappointed by Ongoing Disrespect

I’ve been a loyal customer of Liang’s Garden in Calumet City for over 12–15 years, ordering the same dish consistently — vegetable soup and jumbo shrimp fried rice with extra bean sprouts and green onions. I’ve always supported this business, even when mistakes occasionally happened. But today’s experience pushed me to finally speak up publicly — not just for myself, but for the many others in the community who have shared similar stories.

I placed my usual order and politely asked if the cook could mix the extra bean sprouts and green onions into the dish instead of piling them on top — something that’s happened the last few times. I wasn’t asking for anything extra — just to receive what I paid for, prepared in the way I’ve requested numerous times before.

The woman who almost always takes orders (I don’t know her name, but I believe she may be related to the owner, MEIC) completely disregarded me. She didn’t acknowledge me as I spoke — no eye contact, no response, nothing. When she finally did speak, she cut me off rudely, saying “they know what they’re doing back there” and dismissed my concerns entirely.

This wasn’t just bad customer service — it was personal disrespect. She spoke to me as if my presence and my feedback were an inconvenience. When I tried to explain that I’ve supported this place for over a decade, she coldly replied that it didn’t matter if I came back or not. At one point, she even suggested I have “an attitude” — which only highlights how she refuses to accept even the most respectful feedback without becoming defensive or hostile.

This wasn’t a busy moment. The restaurant was empty — just the two of us — and yet she still couldn’t extend even basic decency or professionalism. She walked away mid-sentence multiple times, made no effort to engage in a human, respectful dialogue, and treated me as though I were beneath her time and energy.

It’s especially upsetting because 90–95% of this restaurant’s patrons are African-American, and yet the pattern of disrespect toward people of color — especially when we speak up — is something I’ve seen mentioned in many other reviews. It’s disheartening to feel like your loyalty and money aren’t valued, and worse, that your humanity isn’t either.

I’m not asking for special treatment. I’m simply asking to be treated with the respect any paying customer deserves. Constructive feedback should never be met with hostility. As a long-term customer who truly wanted to continue supporting this business, I now find myself questioning if they deserve that support.

I hope management reads this and takes serious action. Until then, I can no longer recommend Liang’s Garden to anyone who values being treated with decency, fairness,...

;Normally this is my go to spots however after today I may rethink that decision. Usually the customer service is great however today it was not up to par. The nastiness began when I placed my order over the phone. I really had a difficult time understanding the lady that took the order. She was very rude because I asked a couple of questions and asked her to repeat the total. She told me that she had already told me how much the order was and hung up. I thought about calling back to cancel the order, but I really had a taste for the Pad Thai. They are about the only restaurant on the South Side /South Suburbs that sell that dish. When I arrived at the restaurant, I saw the reason why I had a difficult time understanding her; she puts on the mask when answering the phone and has a somewhat thick accent. I saw that I was not the only one that had a hard time understanding her. As she took another order while I was there the phone customer also ask her to repeat something. Well over the phone I was told that the order would be ready in 15 mins. I was not able to get there until 25 mins later due to a terrible accident on the expressway, However when I arrived, not only was the order not ready, they got part of it wrong. I told the lady on the register, that I tried to confirm the order with someone over the phone but they were very rude and hung up on me. Finally, when I did get the order they still were rude, like I was the one that caused the mix up. Never did they offer an apology. I think that it will be a while before I return, if I return ever. You would think with me ordering also most $20 of food they would have been a little nicer. The food was good, but this time the service...

Liang’s Garden Chinese Food is hands down the best Chinese food I’ve ever had! From the moment you take your first bite, you can tell this place is something truly special. The flavors are absolutely incredible, and every dish is prepared with such care and authenticity that it feels like a culinary masterpiece.

The menu offers an amazing variety of options, from classic favorites like General Tso’s Chicken and Beef with Broccoli to more unique dishes that showcase their chef’s skills. Their fried rice is perfectly cooked, packed with flavor, and always hits the spot. The orange chicken? Out of this world! It’s crispy, tangy, and just sweet enough to leave you craving more. Their egg rolls and crab rangoons are also must-tries—crispy, golden, and full of flavor.

What sets Liang’s Garden apart is the consistency and quality. Every single dish tastes fresh, and the portions are generous. You’re getting incredible value for your money, and you’ll never leave hungry. The food is always hot, flavorful, and perfectly balanced — they’ve truly mastered their craft.

The service is just as excellent as the food. The staff is friendly, attentive, and quick, whether you’re dining in, taking out, or ordering delivery. They go above and beyond to make sure you’re satisfied with your experience, which makes you feel like a valued customer every time.

Liang’s Garden is a true gem, and once you’ve tried their food, it’s hard to go anywhere else for Chinese cuisine. I can’t recommend this place enough—it’s become my go-to spot, and I’ll be a loyal customer for life. If you’re looking for delicious, high-quality Chinese food, Liang’s Garden is the place to go. Five stars...
