Moys #3 — Restaurant in Thornton Township

There is something authentic about popping in for some take-out as one of the staff are putting incense in front of the household shrine to Guan Yu. I think that will always be my memory of this place, as it happened the first time I stopped in.

Take-Out Only. Seating is tighting and a little uncomfortable, so it doesn't hurt to call ahead. Staff are friendly and long-suffering with people who dither their way through the menu way too long. The food is quickly, competently and well prepared mandarin. I'm partial to the thick pot stickers here (though my spouse is not). They're doughy and heavy, which I want to settle in my stomach and silence the rumblings.

The selection is solid and the menu isn't too voluminous (sometimes Mandarin places can be a bit too varied in offerings and I can sit there with analysis paralysis as I try to decide). Prices are perfectly on point. The food quality is all very much decent for this kind of wok fried food.

Portions are what you expect (so probably a bit much for one person, but this is consistent in this industry) and the price point to portion is appropriate.

Oh mannnn! Being in Southeast Asia doesn't mean a lot of familiar foods are/will be available and I'd been craving Egg Fu Yung for several years now. Moy's did NOT disappoint!! From atmosphere (clean & clutter-free), service (kind and clarified orders by Amy), to the food (portion-happy, hot, flavorful, and fresh). We both felt that the prices were also affordable. We ordered 2-smoothies: strawberry/pineapple and a 1-mango/banana; 1-small Shrimp Egg Fu Yung; and 1-small Sesame Chicken. Both dishes were NOT dry or lacking of sauce/gravy ;) Kudos to the kitchen staff!...

My friend told me that her and her mom used to go to Moys and it was good. My daughter just graduated from college with a major in Japanese/Chinese studies. She got a job in Japan. I have her a post-graduation/ moving to Japan party Sunday and I wanted Chinese food. I chose Moys and all I can say is "EXCELLENT". JOE and Amy were so nice. The food was got and delicious.
