Dong Ting Spring — Restaurant in Thousand Oaks

The food is very good. But my experience in hospitality was very cold. My waitress handed me a tablet to place my order. I said thank you and she gave no response. I placed my order and she brought us our food and set it on our table without saying anything. When we're halfway through our meal and our drinks we're 75% empty, she did not bother filling them up or asking us if we want any more to drink. The place was only half filled. When we finished our meals, I had to ask for a refill as she kept on ignoring us. She handed us our check after refilling our water I said thank you and she had no response again. This is the first time in a very long time that I did not leave tip. The feeling I got was if you're not Asian they do not want your business. we were the only non-Asian couple in the restaurant and it was half full. customers around us we're very polite and nice. I feel if you own a business that caters to the public you should respect everyone regardless of nationality. I would only order food to go as it's very good.

My follow up to their response. I'm sad that this company gives a generic response too reviews. When you have a legitimate complaint. Instead of a genuine response that would show that they care about their customers in the community that they serve. It shows a lack of professionalism in the restaurant business. As eating out prices increase companies like this will get weeded out and only the good...

This is the some of the best Chinese food outside of San Francisco on the West Coast. And that is saying a lot. There is absolutely no way the 4.4 rating is an accurate reflection of your meal experience. My only guess is there's some people who are used to typical American Chinese restaurants eating here and not being used to what real Chinese food is like. The food is authentic. All of the sauces and the pickled vegetables are made in the kitchen and not bought from outside. Even the fried rices taste clean and savory and light. With delicious lingering flavors. Many of the dishes are traditional Chinese Hunan style with authentic traditional meat parts preferred for a Chinese pallete but can be substituted for Western palletes example white chicken breast meat etcetera. You will end up eating way more than you wanted to. And try the osmanthus oolong tea, it's an excellent mealtime palate cleanser. The service is great. They take real pride...

Beware, they just hired an lady cashier that is a professional scammer. She is very sneaky and always wear a mask cover upto her eyes. When you get ready to pay, she will give you the correct print out of the bill, and then she will bring the digital charging device to you to swipe your card. What she doesnt let you see is the amount you paid is 30% or 50% more than the printed bill.

According to the owners response below, I should see the total amount to be charged on the charging device, and I don't see that. The scammer cashier told me to go ahead and pay. Using Google pay you will never have to touch their device and have to sign anything, the payment will go through in a blink of an eye. Seems like owner still want to defend the scammer.
