Jersey Mike's Subs — Restaurant in Thousand Oaks

Here it is, Sunday night, a little after 5:30. I called the Jersey Mike’s on Newbury Road, and no one picks up. I try 4 more times, and still no answer, so I decide to go to the store, and order. NOT happy about this, as I really don’t want to be inside the store longer than necessary. When I get there, two people working behind the counter, two people in line ahead of me, however, they we’re finishing up with one of them. After I placed my order, I asked why they were not answering their phone, I had called 5 times. They said that they had been really busy, and stopped answering it. What I don’t understand, is why they couldn’t have taken my order over the phone, and just told me it would be ready in 20 min., or whatever, because they were busy?? I would have felt more comfortable with that approach, instead of having to wait in the store to place my order. Something to think...

I haven’t been to this location of Jersey Mike’s in awhile. I definitely will not be going back. I walked in noticing a help wanted sign and three employees towards the back. First of all I noticed the dirty front door covered with fingerprints. Walked up to counter and noticed a meat slicer covered with turkey crumbs, then the glass barrier between the customer and the food counter was spotted all over with food , dirty spots! The employee walks up to take my order. I asked for the manager, she said was the manager. I told her I am walking out because of everything I mentioned above. All she said was she was sorry! One call to the health department and she would be real sorry. Why doesn’t she realize people’s health is of importance. Please don’t give this Jersey Mike’s any of your hard earned money!!!! Don’t order over the phone or online. Called in an order and the kid who answered had zero phone skills, literally asked me “will that be all” after I told him which bread type and sandwich type, no question of veggies. All the sandwiches came unlabeled, and two of them were prepared incorrectly. Like mine which was ordered mikes way and had no oil or vinegar. Still great food but disappointing, especially as an ex jersey mikes employee, it’s not hard. Just go in person to make sure it’s...
