Ordered a margarita pizza and it’s more depressing than a child with a severe lisp trying to say “statistician”. It fails on every basic level of making a margarita pizza; it doesn’t have San Marzano tomatoes, fresh mozzarella, fresh basil or even enough sauce. The cheese to sauce ratio is only rivaled by a sad, cold, and moist grilled cheese corner being used to sop up the last morsel of lukewarm tomato soup. The abhorrent volume of bread which this pizza has been built upon would have been put to better use cleaning the ever growing puddle of tears created from the chorus of crying children who have been forever burdened by the revolting existence of this pie. The basil on this sad excuse for a pizza was about as fresh my late grandmother’s ashes. I wouldn’t say this pizza’s flavor is necessarily disgusting because it has a repulsively neutral flavor. If someone was to blend it into a fine paste I would have an extremely hard time telling it apart from the thick water old people drink when their jaw doesn’t work. This is not helped in any way by the severe lack of seasoning. The only part I enjoyed about this pizza were the chili flakes which I ended up eating by themselves because they were a huge step up from this repulsive pie. Thank you for coming to my presentation. ILY. No...
Read moreWe stumbled upon this restaurant by accident because we were in the neighborhood and hungry. We believe in supporting small businesses and discovering new dining experiences in Northern California.
We had a pleasant experience and found the service and atmosphere very nice. I would consider this a "white linens" experience. Yes, you get actual white linen napkins. The owner greeted us and was very welcoming.
For lunch we ordered the Carpaccio, Insalata Romana and Via Piccola pizza. All were delicious! They have bread service even for lunch. They do serve their bread with butter but I think true Italian restaurants should serve with olive oil and balsamic! Even so, everything was delicious and made with fantastic ingredients. Its a large restaurant and is great for large parties, date night or in our case, a lunch treat!
Located in a small shopping strip mall, this family owned Italian restaurant is decorated modern and clean with artwork on the walls that can be purchased. There is plenty of parking and optional outdoor patio seating as well.
We found out that this restaurant is under new owners that have been at this location since 2021. If we are planning to be in the area again we will try their...
Read moreHave dined at Via Piccola on 4 other occasions and have had positive experiences. Booked it for husband's birthday dinner with son and his wife. We all ordered our meals, with our son ordering a steak medium rare. All of us were served, but the steak was almost well done and was sent back. Meanwhile, we slowly ate as it took a long while for a new steak to come out. When the new steak arrived, it was almost raw and inedible. Again, it was sent back to be cooked some more. When the steak finally arrived, the 3 of us were done with our meals and our son ate by himself. Surprised we were not even offered a courtesy discount for terrible service. This was the most disappointing dining experience we've ever had at Via Piccola and doubt we will be back. I recently recommended Via Piccola to friends, but moving forward, won't make any more recommendations...
