My husband and I were going to go on a date here. I'm lactose intolerant and can't have eggs so I called ahead to double check if there is dairy and/or eggs in the buns. When the woman employee answered the phone, I asked her if there is dairy and/or eggs in their burger buns. She immediately said, " there probably are but I can double check for you." I could hear her talking to another employee in the background but couldn't make out about what. When she got back on the phone with me, she told me," they are Franz buns like you buy from the store and so they probably do have dairy in them." She told me the buns probably do have dairy in them a few more times and then we got off the phone.
It was confusing to me because most Franz buns don't have dairy or eggs in them 'that you buy from the store' unless they are brioche buns. However, she didn't indicate that they are brioche.
It felt like she was just trying to get me off the phone since she never confirmed or denied if there was dairy/ egg in the buns. My husband called later hoping he would get a different person but the same woman answered the phone and told him the same answer " they probably do." We didn't go on a date there since I can get pretty sick from dairy or eggs if they are in food. I don't...

Where to begin. It is the closest watering hole to my house so there is that. My late Wife and I used to stop in pretty regularly, even after I quit drinking but lately I haven't gone as much as it brings back memories big her that are painful. Food has not always been up to snuff, being served gelatinous sliced beef from a sack that the fellow said was brisket was a memorable one, that put me on strike with the place for over six months. I have TWO wood smokers on my deck, don't make me come back here and show you what REAL brisket is. Fortunately that fellow and his alleged barbecue are gone, no big loss as far as I'm concerned. Lately I have been ordering to go and the patty melt is a pretty good call although 3.00 extra for tots seems harsh. Still cheaper than the chain bar across the parking lot and a lot of the people who work here are good people and deserving of the support, especially Kat who kept my Wife well oiled with the decent Long Islands.
Good people, OK to decent food, what more could you ask for in a neighborhood bar?
I'll keep returning, if only to help these people in the rough times we are all going through, it pleases me to support a truly local business, and I hope they are here for many...
Read moreSince we moved in down the street we have been frequenting Scotty's almost every weekend, often bringing friends with us and having a good time. After a hand full of awesome times, I had such bad experiance, i couldnt even believe a paying customer would be treated that way and it has deterred me from ever wanting to return. After ordering my drink and also my friends, the younger male bartender, that asnt been there very long, proceeded to make the drink, which i watched him do. Once he was done he set them down right infront of me and walked away without a single word. I take this as him being finished so i reached out for our drinks, but before i pull them to me i want to be polite and make sure they are in fact my drinks so i look at him and ask if they are my drinks. he walks over and puts his hand over the cups and pulls them slightly away from me and says "Never take drinks from the bar" very rudely. He then hands me my drink and walks away with my friends drink to give it to them himself. As far as im concerned, I ordered those drinks and paid for them, if you are going to put them down infront of me and not even acknowledge me as you walk away, im going to pick them up and go back to...
