I'd give more stars, but my last visit was a joke. Normally, the food is excellent and the waitstaff prompt.
This time, however, we waited 20 minutes before our order was taken, and a full hour had passed while we waited for our food. As a former restaurant worker, I found that unnacceptable...It wasn't the waitress' fault, so we paid for our coffees and left before getting our food.
If this happens again on my next visit, I'll need to seriously consider finding someplace else to enjoy.
P.S. I find it a little troubling that Pauli's STILL only accepts cash payments...no cards. Get with the times, people.
ADDENDUM: March 22nd, 2021...over a year into the Pandemic...NO MASKS ON ANYONE IN THE ESTABLISHMENT. THE GOVERNOR'S MANDATE HAS -NOT- BEEN LIFTED. I'll be getting my breakfast elsewhere, as I like establishments that follow the rule of law and have concern for their community.
ADDENDUM: Tried getting breakfast (hash and eggs). Person on the phone took our order, and we waited an hour to get it. No hash. Called back, and the waitress claimed we never mentioned it...and then argued with us about it. Horrible service, and a far cry from what it used to be. I had high hopes that this place would turn around, but nope... Now, I'll be telling everyone not to go here. Failing grade, despite the owner claiming an A+.
ADDENDUM: Owner thinks my reviews are false, and that his staff follow COVID protocols...but, of course, this is assuming the new owner is CONSTANTLY PRESENT, day in and day out, all hours of the day, seven days a week, relentlessly monitoring his staff to ensure they follow the pandemic guidelines, and doesn't step out from time to time to let the staff run things. 😀 I know how these things work; owners step out, and it's party central at the establishment because the big bad boss isn't there anymore.
I'd look closer at your staff, my friend. Maybe put in some cameras, instead of calling random...
Read moreI pay a visit to that restaurant on July 14, 2017. The first part of my comment is on the general appearance of the place . I have to say that the place look clean but all the furniture come from the 1980s. Now let's talk about service, there is different interpretation of the menu depending on the server who ask you what you need. That day on the menu that was in particular a soup with no price and a lobster roll at $13.95.
I asked the server if the soup was included and she told me yes. The second server came and take the order so we order one lobster roll with soup and another one without the soup.
What was my surprise when I receive the invoice, $36.95. So if you make your calculation right, $13.95 for a lobster roll time two + $5.95 for one Soup that make a total of $33.85. I handed 40 dollars and I left. I should I make my own calculation but I didn't.
It's when I arrive home and start to think about it I find out that the soup was charge then another three dollars we don't know why.
The lobster roll was fine but nothing to break up bricks. You can have the same thing, when it's on the menu at McDonald's, for quarter of that price.
Let's talk now about the side. Those two lobster roll came with really cheap onion rings. I base my visit there on the different evaluation made by people but I have to say that all of them where wrong. If there's nothing but only in the ordinary place without any atmosphere.
Since we was really hungry after that long drive we didn't complain we just eat and go. Up to you to go there but my advice is to find Something else. There was a diner or look really nice but since we don't stop there we don't know about it. It was located right next to...
Read moreI came her with my mother and aunt to celebrate my moms birthday and take her to breakfast. My aunt and I are both Gluten Free. They do offer a variety of Gluten Free items. I ordered gf pancakes, and they came out extremely undercooked. My aunt ordered an omelet. About 5 minutes after we received our food a different waitress came over and said just so you know the home fries aren’t gf. After they were served to my aunt. I was shocked that nobody told us before hand when we made our server aware of our allergies but yet SERVED them to us and told us after. Then no one offered us a different choice of side. I proceeded to politely ask the pancakes be good longer (gf pancakes often take a lot longer to cook) they came back almost worse?? I think microwaved? I again told our server that I was all set and I wasn’t trying to be rude. She was an older woman and was very short and seemed annoyed to be serving us? No one offered any type of apology, for serving us food we are allergic to, or offer to make any of it right. I will never be coming back here. I came to write a review and read some of the comments back from the owner and that will tell you all you need to know about...
