Yo Café — Restaurant in Timonium

Drove past this place a couple of times on York Road. Hard to miss something new when you pretty much ate in most of the restaurants at least once. I decided to finally give this place a try after looking at their online menu for a week. The employee’s attitude was like one from a Chinese restaurant when I had questions. Blunt, and to the point (which isn’t a bad thing). As a first visit, I wasn’t expecting much going into the restaurant. I got a to-go order of the beef braised noodle soup with the chili sauce on the side, and a pork bun. When I got to work to eat my food, I was pleasantly surprised by the aroma and the amount of meat that was in the soup. Comparing the price to a bowl of pho at a Vietnamese restaurant, this was definitely well worth the price of $13. I noodles was clearly made by hand, and the whole bowl was satisfying and filling. We found this little gem a few months ago. We started with their orange passion fruit green tea with Boba and were addicted right away. Fresh ingridients and fantastic refreshing flavour. Then, we went back for a quick meal and everything was fantastic. Food very fresh and flavourfull and evoked authentic chinese. The place is patroned by a lot of chinese speaking people giving awayt its authenticity. The Henan stewed beef soup is fantastic. The noodle are tick and different in a good way. The pork buns are fluffy and soft and chewy and the best I have had so far. Also, last night we had an issue where we placed an order online but since they close at 8:30 the sytem authomatically pushed the order to the next day for 11:30am. They understood that it was a system glitch and went ahead and prepared the meal for us either way and helped me taking it to my car. Service was fantastic and food once again was excellent. Alright so I’m not the one to write reviews but this is not acceptable at all so let me paint the picture out for you. Me and my lady and her little sister all go to yo cafe to dine in we are having a good time the food was great the place was clean and it was a little empty it was another couple there we all was enjoying our night out no complaints so we asked for the check so we can go and the price we had no problem with paying but when we look at our bank account this morning we seen more then the price we paid missing from our account and it said yo cafe on it we both was like where did this extra charge come from and why the server we had gave herself a tip after we leave. Now if you ask me nobody should even try to tip them selfs we would have gave you a tip in cash but the fact that you took it upon yourself to tip your self you don’t deserve a tip or a job in that matter.
