I don't know if there are enough good words I can say about Rise Towson. I'll start with the fact that I am NOT a morning person since my recent pregnancy but remain a loyal MORNING FOOD person! I absolutely love breakfast food anytime of the day and even though they open at 7am, they allow me to get what I love until 2pm! No more rushing to try to get my fav breakfast sandwich at 11:00(don't judge me).
Even with their safety precautions in place, distancing and you can only order via there electronic pad(if using electronic payments, cash is allowed) which shows the item, describes it AND shows pictures, I felt courteously invited in by the staff and promptly helped when I had questions as a new patron. This means alot to me ANYWHERE I eat my food. The place was also spotless both in the coffee and beverage area that is customer accessible and behind the counter where you can watch them prepare your food if you so desire.
Ok now on to the food itself, I ordered the Biscuit and Gravy with Chicken and it was oh so yummy! One of my fav dishes, being from the South, both the gravy and chicken were good enough to eat by themselves but my mom liked it so much she decided to eat some of mine too! My daughter got the sausage, egg and cheese biscuit but plurged and put it on their glazed blueberry biscuit. If you want your 12-year-old to be quiet AND happy for a bit, get this! I had to try the blueberry biscuit by itself and it was soft, tasty and would be perfect with coffee. If this wasn't enough, they gifted us three donuts! The maple and bacon was a pure treat with delicious glaze and a thick slice of crispy bacon, I hate nothing more than limp bacon but worse on a dessert. The traditional chocolate glaze donut was also moist and tasty and I actually felt bad about how I loved ALL of what we ordered and tried all of it THAT day.
All and all, the atmosphere, food and service was top notch for me and I encourage you to give them a try! They even have fun ways to interact on social media and a chalk board where I could relive my teaching days and signed the board, Ms.T! Next time you are at the Towson location, put a check next to my name if you read...
Read moreI was really excited to check this place out for National Donut Day. I wanted to get some donuts for my crew working the 12-8pm. I really hope the owners/managers read these reviews. If not, this place has an even more serious problem.
They close at 2, but I figured they would still have options if I got there at 1. I pulled in and one of the employees was outside slouched in a chair smoking. I thought, "Ok, maybe National Donut Day was exhausting." I walked in. The place had 6 customers, three were finishing up. The other three looked really annoyed and were waiting for their order. The staff also looked annoyed.
Ok, not to worry, I will just get what need and leave. I looked in the case and saw they only had about 6 donuts, and they were two different kinds of chocolate donuts. They also had a tray of fritters, and what looked like uncooked cinnamon buns.
I was pretty disappointed and just left. It was pretty clear the staff was trying to close up early and weren't putting out any more product. It was an hour before close and they were just selling the dregs. Take a look at the other resent reviews. They all cite staff that has a bad attitude and poor work ethic. Hopefully management fixes this. I would like to give this place another try.
Update 20 Mar 21:
So I decided to give this place another try. Google told me 1pm is a good time to go and it's usually not too busy. The place was closed. Closed, on a Saturday at 1pm (lunch rush time). There was a sign taped to they door that they are closed for a system update. I don't know who the management is for this place but you don't close your business in the middle of the day on a Saturday to update your systems. You do that stuff overnight. I have yet to show up to this place and not...
Read moreHubby and I stopped by for breakfast this morning before heading out for a day of hiking. We usually split something but since we had never been and knew we would be having a busy day we got our own sandwiches, he chose the Fried Egg & Sausage and I went with the Saucy Wisconsin and we got a side of the Hashpuppies. First off, wow these sandwiches are huge, definitely couldn't finish mine, we'll definitely split something next time for sure. I loved the cheesy sauce on my sandwich and the peppers were the perfect touch (just wish there were a few more of them on the sandwich) and hubby loved his sandwich as well. The hashpuppies are very tasty and although a little pricey - $1.75 - for an order of 4 they definitely tasted homemade and 2 actually was more than enough for each of us. Since I read so many great reviews about the donuts I simply had to get at least one so I chose the Carrot Cake Donut, OMG, best donut I have ever had, loved the nuts and cream cheese filling, it was amazing. This place definitely gets busy but the staff gets props for getting people in and out very quickly, actually faster than most fast food restaurants I've been to and there is plenty of parking, seating is pretty limited to just a few tables inside, 2 outside and a small counter area with a window where you can watch them make the donuts. We will absolutely be...
