Didn't have a good experience here.
Ordered two burritos, a loaded fry, and churros. One of the two burritos was the "California" burrito, which has fries in it. Sadly, the fries came out barely cooked. Not crispy what so ever, no color to them, just warm soggy undercooked fries. When I brought this to the attention of the guy behind the counter, seemed like it irritated him, no apology, no customer service.
Despite the fries in both the burrito and loaded fry being soggy and soft, only the loaded fry was remade. They came back out marginally better but still not cooked enough. What's crazy is, I don't even like crispy fries but they need to at least have some color and texture. These were just undercooked, period. Manager was walking around the front, he spoke at length to the table behind us but when he came over to our table, he didn't ask how the food was or address issue we had. He made a comment on my wife being pregnant and left afterwards. They also forgot our desert, we had to remind them we paid for it.
Anyway, I don't like leaving local business a bad review. If the issue was addressed sincerely and they took responsibility for the issue, I'd of never left one and would have came back. Sadly, they made me feel like I was the problem and not their seriously undercooked fries. In the restaurant industry, this isn't the attitude to have. Half of the experience is the service.
Food was OK. Hard to appreciate the burrito and loaded fries due to the issue mentioned above. Other elements of yhe dishes were good. Service was bad. Won't be back, but maybe my trip was a one off. Try...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreLet me start off by saying my husband and I absolutely LOVE this place and their food. On our visit tonight, we were met at the counter by Brett. He took our order, and was super kind. Made sure to double check our order was correct, and opened our coke bottles. It usually takes some time for the food to be brought out, so my husband and I started playing games on our phones (5v5 battle type Games). Steve(?) I believe was the acting manager tonight. And this is the reason why I gave the atmosphere 1 star. When he brought us our food, we were in the middle of our game. We told him thank you so much, and he proceeded to drop our plates on the table in front of us. A little rude, but whatever, it's fine. A few moments later we hear Steve (instead of asking politely) yelling at the kid (Brett). He then proceeded to yell at Brett saying that if he was working there then he had to listen because he was the manager and what he says goes. As someone who frequents this establishment, it really upset me. The atmosphere here is always kind, friendly and upbeat. Never hostile. And tonight, it was very hostile. It made me and my husband very uncomfortable. To the point that I felt the need to ask Brett if he was OK. I would not be OK having a manager talk to me the way Steve was talking to Brett. It was unprofessional and down right rude, nasty...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThey do not have water to drink except to purchase. What restaurant doesn't have free cups of water? The guac was white-ish -- I've never seen guac that looks white. The cartnitas torta was huge and my husband like it a lot -- this was the highlight of our visit. Unfortunately it came out after everyone else was done eating, about the same time we were given our order of chips and guac, which they admitted was "made a few days ago" when they gave me a different serving of it since the original one I received looked so unpalatable. Moreover, the a/c was not working and it was easily 80* inside the restaurant. The sticky tables and chairs and humidity were unpleasant. Customer service was an afterthought, unfortunately. I was barely acknowledged when I asked a question. No "welcome in" when we arrived or "thanks" on our way out despite two people being in the kitchen and only one other order being prepped. Not even a "let me know if you have any questions" while I stood there placing an order at the kiosk while the cook was literally 3 feet away from me.
We go out of our way to support locally owned restaurants when we eat out, but I'm not sure I'd come back to this one given the...
