Handel's — Restaurant in Toledo

Me and my son live Really close by and we Used to go at least three times a week until we had a problem and they gave us the wrong order at the drive-through. I called several times and some young ladies were answering the phone and they thought I was lying. I spoke to a lady that said she’s in charge and I asked if they could replace our ice cream or whatever and she said Sure come in, So me and my son walked there because it was beautiful Night and keep in mind there’s about 30 people in line outside and I’m sitting down And my son is in line. He waited almost 25 minutes maybe longer and when he got to the window, someone rudely asked him is he the weird guy That keeps calling My son replied, yes but how did you knew it was me out of about 30 or so they laughed didn’t say anything and handed us our ice cream now keep in mind these are highschoolers and this degree of prejudice is has to raise some type of red flag. I’m saying I will never go back even the people that wait in line are rude. they have an attitude. I’m not sure why over ice cream people worked there are prejudice, long lines, overpriced soggy ice cream that’s given to you...

Are there places worth making an out-of-state trip for? Yes, and this is one of them. Handel's is an ice cream shop that uses premium quality ingredients. I have seen them post a sign in the past that they wouldn't have a flavor that year because they didn't deem the fruit crop for it to be up to par. They would rather not have something than have it be substandard. So you can expect to have a delightful experience.

How can I rank it? If you have been to Coldstone, this is 50% better. That is my opinion, of course, but Handel's gave me enough pause that I worked out a new rating system. Go try something there! I used to get handles on minimum of 2x week to moving out of the state almost 10 yrs ago and being over an hour away just for one thing. So I finally had a reason to be close (Toledo zoo) and knew I was stopping here. I couldn't be happier to know everything is the same but better! They added some things over years, new flavors, and I seen online just an insane amount of locations across country now! I'm an original location gal!
