I LOVE diners. And this one ticks all the right boxes for me: clean, inexpensive, tasty, and friendly.
The owner is the chef and one gets to watch him create magic in a well-choreographed routine at the grill. There's limited seating (about 6 stools and 3 two-top tables) and a relaxed atmosphere, so don't think you'll get seated fast or served quickly. There are phone orders galore.

when you're a vegetarian, one of the (perhaps unreasonable) things you worry about is the messy grill. you don't want to be the person that's like "and don't let that bacon grease get onto it", but it can negatively affect your experience if you discover a bit of something you didn't want in your food. here you can get a good view of the grill and the whole kitchen. it's clean and the cook does a great job of keeping the grill clean, and the food separated, even with how fast and intensely he was working.

My 1st time there I was expecting a STEAK & LOADED BAKED POTATO, (at least that was the premise when asked if I wanted a steak & potatoes & what I wanted on both). Well, to my disappointment, we received cut up "steak" bites & smothered Diced potatoes, (drink was not included as well). For $15 a dish, which I purchased 3 ($45) I WAS NOT IMPRESSED nor happy about the price. I purchased 3 full meals + drink included from BK & that order was just over $20.
