3 stars because my first experience was not as it should have been. I was at @Huntington Center for the Nate Bargatze show on June 15th. This venue is new to me. I've lived in TX the past 20+yrs. It was clean, easy to access & negotiate once inside. Every staff person I interacted with was very pleasant and helpful. The venue is much smaller than what I'm used to, so I was pleasantly surprised how good the seating seemed to be. However my GREAT disappointment comes from the handling of my need of a ALD (Assisted Listening Device). I have a partial hearing loss in my left ear and I went to guest services for an ALD. To my surprise the 2 ladies working GS didn't know what an ALD was. I'm used to a headphone type and when I explained what it was, one lady said she had one but it was an earpiece type. It's been 10yrs or so since I've had to use this type but it was fine for me because just my left ear has impairment. This is where I became Very disappointed in @Huntington Center. There was no indicator light on device to show power was on. So she exchanged it for one she thought "might" have been on charger longer. (Mind you, both were SO dusty she had to wipe them down) I tried testing the device and heard nothing, not even feedback. Then she proceeded to tell me I wouldn't be able to tell until the show started to see if they worked. Then it would be up to me to bring the back to GS to exchange it for another that "might work". Unfortunately when the show started my device did NOT work! (Thank goodness my seat was near a large speaker and I was able to hear well enough and not to have to leave the show to exchange the ALD). After the show when I went to return the ALD I told her how it didn't work. The lady was very nice and apologetic about the situation and explained that @Huntington Center is known for hockey games and there wasn't much need for the ALD's. I thanked her for her trying to explain why they don't use them but I went on to explain to her how I felt sorry that @Huntington Center left her in a position to have to explain the situation. I went on to express to her that I was truly heartbroken over the situation because my daughter🦋 and many of her friends have multiple disabilities and not having something like an ALD available is inexcusable. Please do better @Huntington Center. My disappointment is also in the lack of response from @Huntington Center too. I left my phone # with the ladies at Guest services and asked if someone could call me about the situation. She took my information and said I'd have to wait for following Monady. Sadly I never heard back from anyone @HuntingtonCenter. I would love to come back and enjoy what @Huntington Center has to offer but I feel certain things need some improvement. Texas is so progressive on inclusion and accessibility I would love to hear back from you this time. Luckily being close to the speaker saved the day. I was there to celebrate something special and when I shared what it was to some of your staff they were So sweet and cheered me on. I look forward to hearing from you. I plan on coming back for a second chance. I don't want this to discourage anyone from coming I just feel compelled to advocate for the things that should already be in place to assist those who may need...
Read moreMy recent visit to the Huntington Center for a Walleye game solidified its place as a truly great venue. From the moment you step inside, the sheer scale of the place is impressive, boasting multiple floors teeming with bars and several eateries. The abundance of options for food and drink was a major highlight, offering something to satisfy every craving. What truly elevated the experience was the exceptional staff. Every interaction was marked by helpfulness and friendliness, with team members readily offering directions and ensuring we knew exactly where we were going. The game itself was a blast, and we even left with an array of little trinkets – a delightful touch that added to the overall fun, and honestly, felt more generous than what I've experienced at even a Mud Hens game. Safety and security were clearly a priority, as the environment felt incredibly secure throughout our visit. Even with large crowds, the flow of traffic was expertly managed, keeping everyone moving smoothly. The efficiency at the concession stands, bars, and eateries was also remarkable, with lines moving quickly and crowds being managed effectively, making for a pleasant and stress-free experience. We had the pleasure of enjoying a suite, and our suite attendant was simply fantastic – incredibly kind and always ready to assist with anything we needed. The food served in the suite was also a significant step up from what we typically get at the Mud Hens, offering a noticeable improvement in quality. My only minor quibble, and it truly is minor, was that the hot dog buns seemed a little stale. However, given the overall excellent experience, this is easily overlooked. Beyond the game itself, the gift shops deserve a special mention. They offered a great selection of merchandise, perfect for picking up a souvenir before or after the game. All in all, my experience at the Huntington Center was, as always, fantastic. I've been fortunate enough to attend concerts and other games here in the past, and I consistently leave impressed and thoroughly entertained. The Huntington Center truly delivers on all fronts, making it a premier destination for entertainment in the...
Read moreClean & state of the art venue! No complaints there.
However, the event/facility staff do deserve a complaint. Tonight I attended the Top Rank Boxing event featuring Anderson vs. Martin. We paid over $300 per ticket (2 tickets total.) The event staff did not monitor guests AT All. I spent 6 PM - 12 AM with a man’s a** in my face because he stood on the stairs in our section the entire time. They even commented, “These would be good seats.” Numerous times guests had to be moved by OTHER GUESTS, NOT STAFF, out of incorrect seats. Individuals were climbing over barriers and standing up in their seats. Those of us sitting had to scream numerous times, “Sit down; we can't see.” Guests were smoking cannabis indoors as the smell was overwhelming, and the smoke was VISIBLE. Why even have event staff if they are not going to correct anything? It was the most uncomfortable experience to have paid for a seat and to have someone STAND on top of me. Guests should not be allowed to stand in the stairwells. And why charge different prices for seats if you let people move to whichever seat they’d like? Next time, charge a flat general admission fee if you do not enforce the seating. There was no organization. A man, one row behind us, screamed cuss words and was blatantly disruptive to everyone in the section. The staff did not even glance our way. Very disappointed in the...
