Stopped this morning to try this place out. Industrial and modern atmosphere. Mornings are always nice for a calm and cool perspective.
I was the only one in line and was greeted warmly. I let the cashier know it was my first visit. She talked to me about the flannel latte (seasonal) and it sounded really really good. No mention of anything else. So I grabbed small sizes of the Flannel Latte with Oat Milk, a Cortado (forgot to ask for oat milk đ¤Śđťââď¸), and a âworkhouseâ drip. The cortado and latte had adorable little â¤ď¸s on them. Cortado was very good! The Workhouse is very pleasant and tasty too. As I sipped the Latte I couldnât taste and if the delicious flavors described by the cashier. She charged me for an oatmilk latte :(. The latte was very good but I was really wanting that flannelâŚ
4 stars for customer interaction mostly. Coffee was excellent! Staff wasnât real interested in the customer. I know thatâs not a big deal to everyone but making the customer feel at home is a big deal in the coffee world. All in all I would come...
Read moreCoffee was good. It wasn't bad. Loved the space and was excited about finding a remote spot to work from since, I'm downtown everyday dropping kids off to school. The seating is very modern and personally found it uncomfortable. The space itself over all is very posh. Beautiful in a sleek, urban, rustic style. They have a work space option. It is gorgeous and was well thoughtout. That requires a membership fee to access the space freely. ( I just got lucky that day being a new customer,I was allowed to check it out. Super nice of them, I thought). The membership fee to use the work space is in my opinion, crazy pricey. $100-$200 a month? Maybe a great fit for an executive of some sort. I'm just a sales account manager. Sadly, that ticket is well beyond my ability. For the right type of clients this would be a great remote space for you.You can hold business meetings in one of their spaces also, available for rent. Staff was very kind, friendly...
Read moreRust Belt opened the very same week that I moved to Toledo. A priority on my list was finding a) great coffee b) a great place to work/read/browse or daydream idly while waiting for motivation to do one of the first two... I knew after the first few minutes that I didnt need to look any further. Rust Belt has style and character both in the front of the cafe as well as in the back, in the design/furniture restoration space.
The aim to donate proceeds to local charities is great. Also, the owners' plans to build out the 2nd and 3rd floors are very interesting - ask them about it next time you are there.
One demerit: need to be open on Sundays. I'm confident that demand is there - not many places in Toledo where you can go for a coffee and to get some work done on a Sunday afternoon.
Keep up the great...
