Rudy's Hot Dog — Restaurant in Toledo

Went there in the morning two days ago. I ordered a breakfast with hash browns toast bacon and two eggs over easy with coffee. What seemed like 15 minutes waiting while I was drinking my coffee at the table came the breakfast finally. The toast was so soaked with this oil. Not butter. I had to wipe it off with napkins. The hash browns were fluffy as if they were dried hash browns that had been rehydrated and grilled and then fluffed up like rice. They had a bad grease smell to them and taste. The bacon was dry although it was generous in the size. It looked as if they fried it or grilled it and let it set. I left after dipping my toast in the eggs.. this oil as I mentioned earlier had such a bad taste and smelled like chemicals or something that was on the toast disguised as butter. The only thing I could figure was it was Grill grease in a can. So a nibble of the potatoes and bacon. I probably took three whole bites. Never again! That was the worst breakfast I've had ever had. Thinking about it later.. I realized I had a inexperienced cook. She was nice. But she was terrible as far as the grill goes. She needs somebody to look over her shoulder and tell her what she's doing wrong. Number one you never butter toast with oil! Number two when you make hash browns and they are ordered as crispy. You put a grill weight on top of them! You never mix the grill oil with the butter that you put on the toast. And you never take the bacon and pull it from a cold sitting station. You fry the bacon or you grill the bacon fresh!. Even the eggs suffer when you combine all these bad habits together! I guess when I left and left all that food sitting on the table I was determined not to make a bad scene. The owner actually said have a good one. I did not think it was a good time to go ahead and point out their bad habits. But I do hope that they are listening. As far as the Rudy Burgers go? I've had them at this location and they do a wonderful job! The hot dogs are another story as all the Rudy's locations go. They're great hot dogs as long as you don't order the basic hot dog with the chili. The dog itself is very cheap. Go with the sausage dog or the king dog when you're ordering chili dogs with onions. I am giving this review the three Stars based on a collective of experiences whereas today's experience would definitely be known worthy of a one star. I firmly believe that the staff tries and tries hard. And in my estimation they often succeed. The gentle manager Justin is most hospitable and personable. There is a staff member of their name Christopher who is exceptional in customer service. There are other staff members that are delightful but I do not know their names. I first begin patronizing this establishment when I moved here a year ago. I had a couple of bad experiences especially with regards to very rude service by two staff members. Believe me we butted heads. I stayed away for about 6 months but then I begin coming back because I remember the food for the most part being pretty good and it is very economical and it is right in my neighborhood. I can a test to a lot of improvements. One of those rude staff members is still here and I would take personal delight if he would exit the orbit. Lol. I placed my breakfast order today and after 25 minutes at Verma self wondering what was taking so long because the place only had about nine customers. Suddenly a man in the dining room hollered from his table that he was given the wrong breakfast and he thinks it was for the guy that was in front of him in line. That would be me. They apologize to him and brought him a new breakfast and I still had to wait. Finally I got up and went to the guy at the register explaining that not only did that guy get the wrong breakfast but I have received nothing. That was informed they would begin prepare my breakfast at this moment. it was brought to the table with no apology or acknowledgment of what had happened. This bacon was so hard it was like I put a rock in my mouth. It was completely unable. The hash browns were very good and they consistently prepare very good eggs perfectly done. I hope someday to offer a five-star review that it's little things that make a big difference. I understand mistakes happen and they may forget my breakfast or give it to somebody else but just simply acknowledge it. I own up to the front that I chose not to say something while I was there and I could have but I have been foreseen as a problem before and I just don't want to welcome that tension back...

FOLKS DO NOT GO HEAR YOU WILL BE RIPPED OFF. . The first time I went here I ordered a couple of chili dogs and a bowl of chili and the soft drink and it was over $15 and I knew that could not be correct I called it to their attention and they made some adjustments. With the explanation they don't know how that happened. Well it just happened again a month later. This time I ordered two chili dogs and a medium drink and it was 7:25 and I'm like that is not possible the hot dogs are 2. 35 a piece. The gentleman started talking to me about how well because of tax it goes up and then he said oh wait a minute there shouldn't be any tax and then he clearly did not know what he was doing then he made adjustment and it came down to six dollars and something since and I said keep it in the left because I am not going to have people standing there at a register that do not know what they're doing. I swear I am not making any of this up including what you will see in this picture. Once the food was made by the gentleman behind the line who was unbelievably kind., The woman who was originally of the register walked away after counting money and leaving the money unattended laying out on the counter. See attached photo. I stood there for 3 minutes while she was in the corner emptying the trash while my food was getting cold. Another man who was busy cooking eventually came to the register and he is the one that rang me up. What is going on at this place? This is not acceptable and I plan on being loud about it.
