I ordered large curry goat meat over the phone. When I make it there, the lady initially tells me that she didn't get my number down to call me back to tell me they were out of goat meat. The cook behind her then says she has 'enough' for me. They opened the box to reveal that I barely got 2 whole pieces of goat meat, majority large bone and two large potatoes (covered in sauce) to "pack" the food for the missing goat meat (For a large order mind you). I spoke up that it looked lacking, the lady has no sympathy for me, offered nothing. I really like Jamaican spice however yesterday was my last straw with this place. No more! Not worth it.
My issue with this place is their customer service or SEVERE lack of it. I completely understand running out of items to make certain dishes. What I CANNOT abide is their complete lack of decency to inform the customer of the situation until the customer arrives to pay and pick up the food. Is it so much to match customers' names to their numbers and call them when you have run out of things as to not waste anyone's time? Or not try to pad the food to make it look like you have more than you did.... Abysmally disappointing!
P.S. Since it's up to the customer (to do your due diligence), ASK THEM IF THEY HAVE ENOUGH FOOD FOR YOUR ORDER!!! Don't waste your time and...
Read moreSo I just wanted to try out this Jamaican restaurant. I searched for one near me and decided to go check it out. At first, when I reached, I was open minded, looking around to take it all in. You might be taken aback as you approach because the Jamaican restaurant share the location with a lil busy convenient store but don’t be. I walked in and walked up to ordering window and placed my order and within 3 mins my very temperature hot meal was ready and in my hands. I made myself comfortable in the cozy lil section that can seat about 10 patrons at the most at the same time. Then I opened my plate to savor the oxtail and yellow rice and peas with fried sweet plantain. First bite was just what I expected, authentic Jamaican cuisine right in my plate. Suffice it to say that I ate the entire meal and even took time to report this before I start forgetting how my experience went. I am sure to return here in the near future. You will not be disappointed for sure. Only bad side is that they don’t have a full array of Jamaican drinks to go with the food. I had to buy Mountain Dew from the corner store located right in the same place so go figure. I guess the stores benefit from each other as in symbiotic...
Read moreI'm sorry this food is nasty. I had jerk chicken with rice and "peas" (which is actually kidney beans) and oxtails with the cabbage. Yuck Yuck Yuck. The flavor was off for both. Everything was seasoned the same it was all bland. The jerk chicken taste like the oxtails and vice versa. The rice and beans taste like the cabbage. I didn't taste any flair or pizzazz that I am so accustomed. Oh and the Jamaican beef patty is not made there. It is frozen and the package says Jamaican "style" beef patty spicy picante. I was actually served my patty warmed in the wrapper. So they don't hide the fact that it is frozen and made fresh or not even authentic. The sad part even though that too was nasty, it was the better tasting of all the items I ordered. Ughhh. I hate to be so harsh but I was told that this food was good and saw one review also that said this is the best in town. I am from out of town and thought I would...
