Dottie’s Gelato and Italian Ices — Restaurant in Tomball

Pretty COOL place to chill! Owner makes gelato and never bought. Not too crowded and good pricing! Help to support this local business. Coffee, gelato, ices, drinks, and more! Top off your favorite desert with some sprinkles starting at $0.50. High-chair available with limited seating outside. Wheelchair accessible to upper level where entrance is. Bring the kids after school for a quick snack! Parking is directly in front of establishment in the courthouse parking lot. My personal favorite is the hazelnut gelato. Its like a caramel frap! Hours are changed monthly to fit the needs of the business temporarily. Three kids cups will cost around $13. However, me and the kids have been going almost weekly to get our sweets.

I’ve been lucky enough to have had gelato at the top award winning gelato shop in Italy (there’s a yearly competition apparently) when traveling and I’ve never expected to taste anywhere near the same quality in the States. However, out of boredom my partner and I decided to go to Old Town Tomball today and wander around. We happened across Dottie’s. When looking at the options, I noticed the measurement marks on the outside of the gelato containers and asked the server if the gelato was homemade. She said yes it is. Well, to my surprise the gelato was incredible! Closest thing I’ve had in the U.S. to quality gelato I’ve had in Italy. It is all natural and homemade in small batches. This is a must in Tomball. The place is very colorful and nicely decorated. They had a great flavor variety, all homemade ice-cream flavors.

We ordered a mini cone with strawberry ice cream, which was delicious. We also got a small waffle cone with coconut flavored ice cream. It was delicious and creamy. It had a unique flavor, not like other coconut flavors around. It also had coconut flakes.

The store was clean, and the decorations were awesome. They had ice-cream scoops decorations all around and a clock made with them as well.

They have plenty of parking right in front of the building and outside sitting.

The owner was very friendly...
