Let me start by saying I really dislike writing this review, but I called and emailed the salon, unfortunately the manager did not respond which given the circumstances and dishonesty that occurred with my previous appointment I was surprised the manager didn’t take time to try and fix this! The first time I went here I seen Adela and had a simple hair trim and blow out which was great. Recently I went for full highlights, I was quoted $199.00 for a full highlight and $50.00 for toner. I specifically asked how much my service would be & this was what Adela ( my colorist ) told me. While she was washing my color out. I proceeded to ask her how much a mask was and what kind of hair masks did they have, I of course asked the prices as well. She responded that they had a couple different ones and I asked how long would the mask take, she responded 20 minutes. I very clearly told her I would come back in a couple weeks. The reason I told her I would come back in a couple weeks to get the mask is because I had already been there for almost 3 hours and I was running out of time for another appointment. I had later on that evening For work. My color turned out very nice, unfortunately, when I went to check out, my bill was $338.00 which is not what I was told, $250.00 was what Adela told me. I was charged for a mask that I did not approve and clearly told her I did not want to get that day, I was also charged for a blowout, which I was not told of that price either. I did pay the bill, but after I left the salon I thought about it and felt a little taken back so I called and the receptionist credited me $40.00 back for the mask. I emailed the salon twice and never heard anything so I waited about a day or so and called back and asked if the manager or owner checks the emails. The receptionist which was very sweet told me yes she does receive the emails and said that she would call the owner and let her know that I had sent an email and took my information down. I never heard a word back so I really Feel like this was very dishonest of Adela to stick me with $85.00 of extra charges and never bother to call me and explain or apologize or say there was a misunderstanding on her part. The owner never called either which I find this very unprofessional, I have never experienced this before, taking advantage of your clients, especially a new client is not good business and sadly, I will not be returning here due to this situation. I have two daughter-in-law’s, a daughter and a mother I would’ve Recommended them all to uptown salon because I really did like my first experience with my haircut and my color turned out beautifully but nobody wants to do business with a salon who doesn’t at least make an effort to resolve an issue like this that involves a dishonest transaction! All the owner or Adela had to do was call and explain why and I would of been willing to hear their side of the story. If you do go here ask them to write down a breakdown of your service before you do anything so you do not get added charges, very sneaky and dishonest for a stylist to do this. I’m very disappointed because I really liked the energy here at first and my hair but the lack of communication, dishonesty and absolutely no effort from the salon to fix this is why I...
Read moreI’ve been going here for a year and a couple of months ago changed stylists to Alana due to Christine no longer working there. Two failed interactions with this salon, first with Alana having someone else apply the second half of my color, then with Rola and Deena, and there will not be a third. The one this weekend involved Rola personally and I don’t find it polite at all to twist someone’s response of “No I really don’t want to try another stylist just because Alana is running late because I’ve had bad experiences before” and make a mockery if it by telling me that she (Rola) would be doing my hair with Deena and instead completely pass me off to a person (Deena) that I originally said I didn’t want. Then Rola said to Deena in my presence “ohhh she just has ptsd with hair stylists and bad experiences “. No ma’am very unprofessional and uncalled for to label me, because I don’t like making scenes being that I had many people around me and I’m also 9 months pregnant so I left this alone. You just won’t get my money anymore to be honest.
Also, Rola if your receptionist was able to text me 2-3 hours ahead and ask to come 15 mins later since Alana was behind and say that I wouldn’t have to wait any longer than that, then that means that any one of yall SHOULD have messaged or called to tell me she was truly WAY more behind and saved me a long commute in the rain *while pregnant! Also, there’s no need for Alana to have gone obnoxiously overboard with the statements calling me “Babe”, “Baby”, “my love” and “yes yes whatever you want I want you to be happy”.. it was really not genuine in delivery, super fake and very embarrassing. She’s never until that day, addressed me this way. I’m older than her and that’s actually disrespectful. After all I was not making a scene or complaining I simply stated that I didn’t want to be with multiple stylists and being that i pay, I do have a say!
It’s pretty selfish of y’all, customer service is not of importance, money is the only part you care about. If it wasn’t, you should...
Read moreI seen Lucy tonight for my hair. I have had not such good luck finding a good salon/hair stylist since moving to Texas. Tonight deemed to not be much different unfortunately. When booking my appt, after searching for some time, I was priced $229 for a bayalage. Ok great! She text before my appointment and asked if i wanted a blow dry and a cut and i said of coure! I went in for my appointment, showed the picture I wanted and was ready. I tried to trust the process (remember bad history). The process of coloring was different than one I had ever had. After color was done, shampooing was done, she asked if I wanted a blow dry and I said yes! She then said she was going to Curl my hair for pictures....OK? By this time, I will mind you that my hair, although I like the color, it is not what I asked for and I didn't get the cut. She also advised me that she didnt do my dark roots like i wanted as it wouldnt match my skin tone so it basically looks like an all over color. I go to check out and my bill is $383!! How?! I leave a tip cause I am that person, and of course ask for a receipt. I check my email and see that I got charged $249 for the bayalage and $79 for a cut/style that I didn't receive!...
