My family selected this restaurant based on my researching best restaurants in Tom's River. (Originally, we were going to try The Office but, postponed that to go when they have their specials for lobster and steak.)I read many reviews, some positive some negative. I also looked up a menu that must have been extremely outdated because the offers were no longer accurate (meals no longer include salad as I had read) and the prices were much higher than stated once we received our menus in person. If that wasn't the case, I would have given the restaurant five stars.
The restaurant is much nicer inside than we expected. The waiter, Danny, was personable, prompt, pleasant and a comedian. Just perfect for our family consisting of my husband, parents and our three children, ages 11, 9 & 7. The fried calamari could melt in your mouth and we all agreed was one of the best we've ever had. The bread with oil is offered instead of bread and butter, but, butter was quickly provided when asked for.
It would be nice if there was a genuine children's menu offered, instead of half portions of meals for those of us who are budget conscious and enjoy restaurants that include reasonable options geared towards children including drink.
Each of us said our meals were either good or excellent. My oldest loved her Fettuccine Alfredo!!! Other options ordered were salad, mozzarella sticks, chicken fingers, penne vodka, raviolis, shrimp scampi, chicken franchese and squingili. No problems to mention. Everything was cooked and brought out immediately as they were ready so meals were exactly the way I like them-piping hot.
Lastly, I had read a post about Covid rules not being followed by anyone. Based on our couple of hours there, that was totally inaccurate. Our waiter mentioned how important following CDC guidelines are to him and his family to prevent anyone from getting ill.
We look forward to trying this restaurant a second time when...
Read moreWe were there for New Years Eve the menu Was limited and that was fine.we asked for The bread with the tomato sauce and the waiter John said we do not do that any longer. We then made our order. While we were waiting The table next to us were getting the pizza bread we were told they weren’t doing any Longer. Then 5 minutes later the table next to them was delivered the pizza bread. I called the Waiter over to our table and said , you told us you weren’t doing the pizza bread any longer And he said well they are regulars that’s why they got it. We eat there quite often and that’s why we knew about the pizza bread. Now the meals came I had Stuffed Snapper with crab meat this was not stuffed and the crab was Drizzled on top like wet gravey . The fish smelled like old fish like frozen if you will. I was told it was flaky. It was hard as a bad over cooked steak could not cut a piece off to eat , called the waiter over and ask him to cut it And he said I can see this is bad. He took it away with the smell leaving the table. My friend Had a chicken dish and he said it was tasteless. I have been coming here for years Never was treated so unfairly and we all thought there must be new owners. We left A 30% tip and will never go back again and will Inform our friends about this unfortunate Evening. If the old owners are still there the must know this episode. Both myself and friend are previous restaurant owners and were taken back when the waiter implied we weren’t regulars so we weren’t entitled to the Pizza Bread. On the way out other people had pizza bread on there tables and I asked the people At this table how did you get the pizza bread and they said they...
Read moreI am a regular customer at Enzo’s, but lately there has been absolutely abysmal customer service. I ordered food for take out and asked for a receipt. I got home and realized there was no receipt, so I called and asked for an itemized receipt to be texted or emailed to me. After not receiving the receipt I called back and asked again to verify they sent it to the right number. Bryan at the front desk told me they were very busy and to “wait”. About an hour later I drove by to get a printout of the receipt (that should have been in my order) because I understand that it was dinner rush and that they likely didn’t have time to text it to me. The nasty man that came to the desk (who I later found out was Enzo himself) told me he was “too busy” to get the receipt. He explained there were customers he needed to deal with and screamed at me that I didn’t need the receipt and that I needed to wait because the other customers were more important. He then WALKED AWAY from me while I was standing at the desk. What kind of customer service results in the customer being walked away from? Truly embarrassing showing on their part. And to make matters worse, as I drove away, he called me back to scream some more. After being a regular for years, catering parties, and ordering almost weekly, I will...
