Having spent my youth growing up in Staten Island we visited the Original Ralph's regularly. We were always excited when they reopened after the Winter. Fast forward to today. I have Kids of my own. They have been brought up enjoying Ralph's on our visits to Staten Island from South Jersey. Today I brought my 10 year old to the Boardwalk at Seaside Heights. Again it was wonderful as I remembered it from my youth. Driving home to South Jersey we came up on a Ralph's right there. How disappointed we were. The scoop cream ices were stale and had chunks of ice in it . It was crumbly, not creamy. It was most definitely the ices that were left over from last season & had been sitting in the freezer for months. We ordered the Donato with birthday cake. The cookie dough was hard as a rock. It was thrown out, inedible. The portions were much smaller than what is served in Port Richmond. Spending over $20 for 3 portions is not a very good value, especially considering that what we were served was stale. The final insult was that they do not accept credit cards but the ATM,just a few feet away, that charges for the transaction...

Prices are too high, the place is understaffed and full of bugs, and the workers are extremely rude. I haven't gotten anything I ordered since the new management took over. They conveniently find every mistake in the book to not complete it. "The line is too long and your order would take up too much time";"I'm currently training a new employee and your order would take up too much time"; "We closed that down already" they had over an hour before closing. Why the hell did they even expand the menu if they never allow anyone to order the new options. Truly a shadow of it's...
Another place you drive to expecting to be open because the sign says they re open and closes earlier. I went there this past Friday night and the advertised hours for that day was 10pm. I got there 8:54pm Friday night and they were closed. I was just there the night before on a Thursday which they close at 9pm and the place was open but getting ready to close. The ice is good but not worth the aggravation of driving all the way there during advertised business hours only for the place to be closed. There wasn’t no power outage, hurricane, tornado, snow storm, or a note or sign indicating some sort of emergency reason why they closed early, on a Friday night...
