El Green Burrito — Restaurant in Tooele

Update as of 4/21/24: Still delicious as ever. Best Mexican food I've had outside of Mexico. Shrimp Chimichanga I had today was fresh, the shrimp tasted like they were just caught, and was plenty loaded with cheese and smothered in chili Verde, it was sooo good!

Edit as of 2/04/24 **I stand by my original review. The food and energy are great, reminds me of authentic Mexican food with actual flavor and not the molten rubbery lava crap you get from places like Betos. And the prices are very reasonable, zero complaints with the price, food, or service.

The owner is awesome, he isn't afraid to wait tables, bus them, he works alongside his staff with great energy and enthusiasm. Very glad this place is going strong and pray they keep up the amazing quality of food and service, and maybe open a location in Salt Lake? Like I don't mind driving to Tooele to eat but you'd see me much more if you had a place in Salt Lake 😀 And keep in mind I eat here at least once a week and can't really find anything I complain about except maybe the salsa is a tad runny but aside from that, this restaurant retains my five star review. Original review* Out of all the food joints In Tooele to open up, this one's my favorite. It's a small family restaurant, I decided to try the Shrimp Chimichanga with Chile Verde and rice and beans. I was blown away to find that the food was extremely full of flavor, the Chimichanga was loaded full of shrimp, the Chile Verde actually had a load of flavor... (Not like typical Mexican restaurant food that just tastes like molten hot rubber.) The chips and salsa both made in house and very delicious. Eating inside is very noisy, had to ask to turn the music down, between music & customers it’s very loud!!!

Called in an order on Saturday September 13, 2025, between music, loud environment, language barriers very hard to communicate with a phone order, picked up my order got home with a messy bag, opened the 2 orders, totally messed my order up, my daughter call the restaurant immediately discussed the issue they said they will make it right at no additional costs, I immediately drove to the restaurant only to find out they wouldn’t charge for the rice & beans but wanted me to pay for the two burritos that should have in my original order, I told them to to keep their food and I would go someplace else, they didn’t like that or tried to negotiate, they had the food ready keep in mind they said no extra cost cause the order wasn’t right the time, to bad they lost two customers today, possibly a call to ICE for Id checks all over getting my order wrong & wanted to charge for another order of the same when over the phone we asked if there are was additional cost they replied “NO WE JUST WANT TO GET YOUR ORDER CORRECT “!! This is my go to for the Mexican food munchies here in tooele. 9/10 they are quick and have the food ready before I get there after calling in a order. This time they fumbled the ball a bit. I called in at right about 7:00 got immediately put on hold for about 3 mins. I understand no issue there it’s a restaurant. Then was told it would be 20-25 mins again understandably it was the tail end of dinner rush. How ever where they dropped the ball was 7:25 rolled around I arrive, no problem, pay food is not ready at this point, I waited for 11 mins before someone asked if I had an order/if I’d been helped. Then I ended up waiting till 7:50 for my food. Over with this visit not the happiest. If there had been some better communication as to what the hold up was I would’ve had zero complaints. But I waited and waited with only being asked if I had an order. I got asked a total of two times if I had an order while I was waiting for food I’d already paid for.
