I choose the next words carefully. Ive had good meals, ive had great meals, but today, I had a meal that has made me question a substantial part of my belief system. I had probably the best steak I've ever had. It was, dare i say, perfection but perfection does not make me question one of the long standing truths of my life but this steak did that my friends. Why might you ask did this steak make me question my existence? Well the flame broiled flavor and succulent juicy taste was what made this perfect steak. I have been trying to capture this flame broiled flavor since I started visiting Topeka here in Kansas 30+ years ago. I kept giving steak houses chances ever few years not quite remembering why I thought Kansas City was better. But this steak, words cannot describe it's perfection. The taste was so familiar, yet so different. The flame broiled taste pulled the whole thing together in a hot, smokey way I could not have dreamed up if I had a life time to think of it. If only I was lucky enough to thank the creator for this life changing experience. I'm afraid I may spend the rest of my life dreaming of this steak because I only pass through Topeka. I will probably spend this evening contemplating the Blind Tiger if only to wrap my own soul around this new truth. That truth being that I have eaten the best steak of my life. Thanks to the sous chef who created this steak. Thank you for showing me that no matter how much I may underestimate something, there are still artists out there that can satisfy hearts, minds, and palates.

Note: Party of 7. It took about 2 hours from the time we arrived to the time we got our food. When we arrived, we were told it was a 45-minute wait to be seated, which is understandable considering this is such a popular restaurant. Our service was a little slow, but our waitress, Sadie, seemed to be working hard to clear her tables and get other things in order. After taking our orders, she checked in frequently as we waited for our food; making sure to refill our drinks, assuring us our food would be out soon, and apologizing for the wait. Ultimately, our bills were all discounted by 50% due to the long wait. When the food arrived, it was warm and apparent that it had been sitting for some time. The only dish that looked unappetizing was the cheese fries, as the shredded cheese had cooled and coagulated onto the fries almost as if they were leftovers. Otherwise, despite the lesser-than-fresh food temperature, our dishes were still delicious and appetizing! I ordered the brewhaus burger and it was incredible. I want to give Sadie a huge shout-out — she seemed to have a lot on her plate that night, and she did the best she could to ensure we had a decent visit. I look forward to visiting again, maybe at a less busy time.

So was in Topeka and saw a advertisement for this fine establishment at the Topeka Zoo. Found out that the Topeka Zoo and this awesome place have a partnership going that helps protect tigers in the wild, so that had me wanting to try it out. Let me say that there were only two small hiccups, and they were not deal breakers, but someone in the kitchen did not pay attention to our order but we still got awesome food. You can sample their in house beers, which I recommend the Top Gun IPA, the Kansas Grown IPA and the Czech Dark Beer! Also if you like supporting other local business, definitely try the Kansan Burger, the meat is local bison and it is delicious! I also want to shine a spotlight on the server we had, her name is Alex and she was straight up awesome! She is very knowledgeable, friendly and overall a excellent server! Just a heads up at the time of this post, they are understaffed so please be patient with them, because not only is patience a virtue but it is also the right thing to do considering that they are making your food perfect. So please give this place a try if you ever go to Topeka!

Sunday night at 6:30, party of two. No one at reception, waited there five minutes, a waitress shows up and tells us 45 minute wait but open seating in the bar. One whole dining area was empty, but there appeared to be plenty of staff, so perhaps waiting for a large group (who never came while we were there). We found a table in the bar, waited another ten minutes for a waitress to come by. She took our drink orders, no menus. Another five minutes go by, finally a different waitress brings our drinks, we ask about menus which she gives us. The original waitress shows up after another five minutes to take food orders. Twenty minutes later our waitress walks by, says she’ll check on our food, and brings it out shortly.

The Texas Nachos had real cheddar cheese instead of cheese sauce, but other than that were less than average quality and not really tasting good. The meatloaf special was burnt top and bottom and almost at room temperature so obviously had been sitting out for the waitress to pick it up.

Finally, when we asked for the check and our waitress brought out the credit card slip, she left it on the table and went into another room. No pen to sign it. Had to go to the bar for a pen.

I’ve eaten many times at Blind Tiger, although mostly lunches, always with good food (many different items) and service, but it’s been about a year since the last time. I don’t like writing negative reviews, but either this was a one-off very poor evening for the entire staff or the restaurant no longer is able to maintain its former standards for food quality and service. Too bad. We won’t be returning to the Blind Tiger as there are other...

I imagine experiences will vary based on time of day but we had a horrible lunch on 31 August 2023. When we arrived there were only a couple of other tables seated and we were able to place our order quickly but that’s where the positive experience ends. We watched three tables sit, order, receive their food and one table was even able to pay and a new group was seated before we got our food. We ordered basic food. Kids cheese burger, we asked for lettuce, tomato, onion added because our child eats well. The prime rib melt, medium rare. The chef’s special BBQ sandwich. Not exactly a difficult order. We were repeatedly told that our food was coming, and that there was an issue with how the chef’s special was ringing up in the system and that was the cause of the delay. When our food finally arrived, the kits cheese burger was bare, and the prime rib melt arrived over cooked and without cheese at all! How is it a melt without cheese? They did offer a discount, the manager said 50% off the entire order but it was closer to 40% of food only. Words matter! We did appreciate the gesture, the staff was professional and polite entire time and I tipped based off of the total order not the discounted rate…. Then, the waiter kept my credit card after paying. This is partially my fault but it was icing on the cake having to return later to pick it up when I noticed it was missing and being asked if I left my card, NO! You kept my card. I keep my recites, cleared the tray, you kept my card!

Bottom line, the beer is great. I would come again for a beer or two but I will never sit down for a meal at this...
