Gerardo’s Mexican Food — Restaurant in Topeka

This is my second time trying and even further disappointed. The first time I got tacos, rice and beans and the beans tasted burnt, and the rice was dry, the pork tacos I got were ok and for the price is was a disappointment. Then today I wanted a torta and was short on time to go where I usually go so I told myself the last time I ate there it was just a one time bad experience, because the drive threw was very busy. No I was wrong it was not a one time bad experience. I got a shredded beef torta, the man on the com asked if I wanted special, I asked what’s it come with he said a drink and fries, I said no I dnt like fries and go tot he window, he proceeded to tell me I owe 10 dollars and some change for a 5.99 torta. I asked excuse me what else come with it, he said fries and a drink. I told him I didn’t want the extra noisy torta he said ok took my card charges me the 10 something and hands me the bag and a drink. I just shook my head and asked for some hot sauce, he said in bag. I drive away go back to work, open my food and I’ll be damned if the fries were cold soggy and undercooked to where the middle of them were crunchy, I don’t like fries any by and this just made it worse and I was so hungry, then I get to the torta the bread would of been wonderful if it wasn’t soggy by some nasty smashed up avocado something sauce, and then the onions were cooked... not fresh cut onions like I always have gotten on a torta, it was loaded with soggy shredded lettuce, and one more time about the awful avocado stuff in it, I love avocados and mine have always come with fresh cut chunks of avocado not some kind of mush, and the meat was very very dry not moist and flavorful at all, and then to top all of it off there was NO hot sauce in bag like he said but there was ketchup for the soggy cold undercooked frys I didn’t want in the first place. GO TO THE TACO SHOP ON 10TH STREET DO NOT GO HERE WENT HERE AFTER WORK ON A MONDAY ORDERED A VEGETARIAN BURRITO PAID FOR IT GOT HOME AND REALIZED THEY GAVE ME A CHILLI VERDE BURRITO I CALLED THEM TO ADVISE OF THEIR MISTAKE AS THE GENTLEMAN IN THE DRIVE THROUGH WHO TOOK MY ORDER DID NOT REPEAT IT BACK TO ME AND THESE BURRITOS COST THE SAME PRICE SO I DIDNT NOTICE OR LOOKED AT ME RECEIPT I WAS CHARGED FOR.THE INCORRECT ITEM THEY REFUSED TO CORRECT THE ORDER AND WANTED ME TO BUY ANOTHER BURRITO SAYING I SHOULD HAVE LOOKED AT MY RECEIPT IT WAS A LONG DAY AFTER WORK IF THE GUY WOULD HAVE REPEATED MY ORDER BACK I WOULD HAVE TOLD HIM RIGHT THEN NO I ORDERED A VEGETARIAN BURRITO AS I DO NOT EAT MEAT LONG STORY SHORT THEY WOULD NOT CORRECT THE ORDER AND WANTED ME TO BUY ANOTHER BURRITO 😂 I THINK NOT I WENT TO TACO SHOP ON 10TH THEY REPEATED MY ORDER BACK AND GOT EXACTLY WHAT I ORDERED THIS RESTAURANT WILL NOT CORRECT THEIR MISTAKES AND WANT YOU TO BUY MORE FOOD INSTEAD OF MAKING IT RIGHT WITH THEIR CUSTOMERS DON'T GO HERE THEY DON'T DO BUSINESS RIGHT... I never had this bad of customer service ever. My husband brought me chicken taco salad and a burrito and I found a PIECE OF WOOD inside of my chicken. It was at 12:13am, we drove 15 mins to the store to bring the food back and only want the money refund. It was only 16 dollars total. I tried to explain to the lady what’s going on. But she refused to give me refund and talk to me. Instead of talk to me, she call the police to come talk to me. There’s two guy who’s working in the kitchen was laughing at me also:( After I told the police what’s going on, then she finally give me the money refund, but she told me that we are banned from this store!! All of this took us over one hour . I”ll never believe this happens to me. The store serve the bad food to customer, then refuse the refund ,then call the police , then give back the refund, then told customer you are banned from this store? for what? I don’t understand. Anyway, this experience will also report to healthy departments, because that is a piece of wood inside my chicken. It will almost kill people.
