Margarita's Jalisco — Restaurant in Topeka

On July 3rd, at the 17th and Washburn Ave. location, we came here with family and friends. We always brag to others how wonderful this restaurant is, however the last time we came here, we were extremely disappointed. We came to drink margaritas and have chips and salsa. My daughter ordered food off the menu and my daughter never got her beans and rice with her meal. If I hadn't of said anything, it would of never came. My husband had ordered a beer and it took 15 minutes for the waiter to bring it. Also, during our dining the staff just literally stopped coming to our table and the people at our table are are sitting at the booth watchin the staff not doing their job. I've never experienced this type of poor service before, but they didn't bring anymore chips, didn't ask us if we wanted to get more margaritas or beer, water, nothing. When we were here it was very uncomfortable sitting and drinking and I believe they need to make it cooler in this place because my daughters legs were sweating on the seat and I do think something must be wrong with the AC unit, but they seriously need to get it fixed. Also last night the song that was played, was being played over and over again, there was no variety of songs and the music was so loud that it was difficult to have conversation with our family and friends.

When we decided it was time to go, nobody came to our table to give us our bill, we had to walk up to the cash register to pay because the staff were standing around visiting amongst each other and not paying attention to their tables they were waiting on. Honestly, after I write this review, it makes me sad because we love this place so much and until the owners sit down and make a change with their staff to be more attentive, fix their AC, turn down the music, I don't think that we will be back to eat here, IF we do, I will come back and update my experience on the...

It was around 10 am and most places open at 11, however when I looked on Google it said they were open at 10 am, so even though it was completely out of my way I decided to make the drive because I had been here before and the food was pretty good. Upon arriving I was a little disappointed that the parking lot was clear of snow and ice, except the one handicap spot but I said that's okay we'll make it work. My mother recently came home from the hospital with a very unplanned and unexpected above knee amputation so my brother and I are still learning how to maneuver and do day to day things with her but needless to say everything is a little more challenging now. The ramp was much appreciated, getting in the door was not easy but we got in and seated ourself. After a few minutes an employee came out from the kitchen I assume and told us from across the room that they are not open... I said okay (very confused) he then told me they do not open until 11am. I asked the time, and it was 1039. I said so you open in 20 min? He said yeah then continued to stare, feeling uncomfortable I told my brother to get my mom and let's go I guess. He then watched as we struggled to get out the door. This man had every opportunity to say, hey you if you don't mind waiting 20 min you can stay seated. Instead he had no problem asking us to wheel her back outside and across the parking lot to wait for 20 MINUTES. I usually never leave reviews, however I have never been so disappointed. This “was”our favorite Mexican restaurant. We were going once a week for several months. But they have one waitress that is terrible. She is not friendly but that is not the worst thing. She won’t wait on some tables. It’s crazy!! We saw it happen twice before she did it to us. The first time a couple came in and sat in the booth next to us. She waited on other people that came in after them. As she passed by the couple, the lady asked her that they would like to order. The waitress stopped for a second and then walked off and never went back. The couple left very angry. The next time a couple came in and right after that a large group came in. She never waited on the couple just the big group so the couple left. The last time when she did it to us she took our order and never came back to the table. She had the chip girl bring us the bill.
