Sorry 12th and Gage McDs... My husband and I found ourselves struggling to make ends meet, and we were homeless for a bit. He was at VA getting treatment (hubbs is a USAF vet) and I was sitting outside with my puppy while some friends who were watching over Bubbs (and me trying to help me find steady income) were inside charging our phonns and getting a couple of coffees and $1 breakfast burritos. I felt embarrassed about sitting out front with 2 cartloads of our last remaining items on Earth and our dog, plus it started to rain. I pushed the stuff to the McD training and hiring building, which according to the sign, was to be closed for a few more hours. Tt also started walk-in interviews were accepted. I tidied my appearance earlier (I am always very clean and put together no matter the circumstances) when the hiring manager approached me, thanked me for moving from the restaurant, but she was going to need us to leave after I ate. I explained my situation and how I needed steady work and was wanting a walk-in interview. She gave me this disgusted smirk and told me that in order for me to get a job there, I needed a physical HOME that I resided in and that matched my mailing address, turning me down for employment without even allowing me to fill out an application, or seeing my resume... She went inside and 5.minutes came back out and offered me the cold, stale English Muffin and 1 grape jelly packet to eat, and asked my friend and I to vacate the property even though she was allowing the strange and obviously twacked out guy walk up to people's cars in the drive-thru, and only letting them pass is they gave him some money, which he ran off and would get another fix before coming back to harass...
Read moreI go to this McD's regularly, but in this particular day it was beyond TERRIBLE!! I only ordered a small fry & McChicken. My total was $3.80. I dug in my purse & found $4. (Had to straighten out the bills) I gave it to the cashier. Moments later, she asked if I had $.80. I reminded her I have her $4. She snapped at me that I only gave her $3. My daughter was in the car & witnessed all 4 dollars. She calls the manager, RHONDA & closes the window to talk without me hearing. The manager looks at me, shakes her head, & hands the cashier a dollar. The cashier hands me a receipt & rolls her eyes. I politely ask for my $.20 change. She again rolls her eyes & says "you only have me $3." I explain that I gave her $4 again. She says, "Fine!" and gives my change. I go to the next window where the manager is. I ask her name & the # to the corporate office because I believed the situation was handled poorly. She starts yelling & tells me she helped me pay for my order. I AGAIN explain I paid $4. She says she doesn't have to listen to this & slams the window shut. Another employee comes over, apologies & asks if she can help me with anything else. I inform her that I have yet to receive my order. She apologies again & gathers my orders. Sadly, one person ruined my entire experience. That's how management acts.... WOW!! I wouldn't recommend this location. I now drive across town to avoid...
Read more6.55$ I paid for my lunch with 26 quarters and 5 pennies. I'm struggling with money because school is starting back up and that's just how it goes sometimes. I went to McDonald's on 10th Street yesterday for lunch and had a group of students from Washburn with me (fortunately I was last to order my food so not to hold up the line or allow the shame of paying with change because that's apparently a thing) and as I'm counting my change out the manager comes by and says "I'll have to show you (talking to his employee) how to check for counterfeit change". I don't know what sort of discrimination or harassment prevention training they offer for management but this is disgusting. Me being the 24 year old Adult that I am just laughed it off extra hard but seriously in the future don't make fun of the form of currency someone is using, that is pitiful and disappointing. I'm a human, treat me as such. (Photo for reference in case you want to apologize to my face because I'll probably come eat here again because the food is affordable and quick which works well with the Marching Band camp schedule this week before classes...
