Blaze Pizza — Restaurant in Torrance

I gave this restaurant four stars a few years ago, but oh how the mighty has fallen...

We kept going back, hoping it would go back to as good as when they opened but it never happened. Our last visit was just terrible. The people behind the counter weren't rude so much as indifferent. Each employee down the line, one after another, acted like they didn't want to be bothered.

When we arrived it was quiet, but a group of people came in behind us, so they called out to the woman who was mopping the floors. She put her mop down and came to the counter and asked what kind of meat I'd like. She only changed her gloves because I asked her to and gave a heavy sigh in the process.

My pizza was done first. There were a lot of dry bubbles because they did not spread enough of the garlic pesto on it. Overall, it was undercooked. When my husband's pizza came out, it was overcooked. We didn't complain. We just ate to get some food in our stomachs and vowed never to return.

When the store opened, the employees were friendly, the food was good and was fast. There's not one single moment that we can pinpoint where things went wrong. It's just been a gradual deterioration over the years and eventually became the cesspool that it is. We noticed they're not nearly as busy as they used to be so it can't be just us. Sorry to say goodbye Blaze, but we've been left...

I'm only giving this place 1 star because if I give them "0", they will not allow me to post! Any business that would take advantage of students, who are trying to do something positive, should not be allowed to operate. My daughter is a member of the ASB at Narbonne. Due to lack of funds, ASB organized a fundraiser with BLAZE. They promoted the fundraiser at school and with their family and friends. They went to BLAZE on the evening of the event and had dinner while people came in to participate in the fundraiser. Can you believe that when they received their check for the fundraiser, which was supposed to be 20% of the sales, their check was for $5.60? That is impossible. That means that for the entire length of the fundraiser, they only sold $26 worth of pizza and other products? My daughter has called and left SEVERAL MESSAGES with no return call. I have left SEVERAL messages with NO RETURN CALL! If there was some type of miscommunication or misunderstanding, I wanted to discuss it! But they won't return ANY of the messages we left! I want an explanation.

Of course when I called and pushed the number to order a pizza, so one picked up! But they said they were unable to assist me! This situation is unacceptable. No one should support this establishment.

I never write negative reviews, I always try to see the good in places but I really did have a bad experience here tonight. I understand that the night/closing shift is tough and you really just want to call it a night but you still have a responsibly to provide good service.

I ordered a build your own pizza and expected to wait around 10-20 minutes for my order to be ready (based on past experience at this establishment). I had to wait almost over an hour for my pizza while the rest of my friends' orders came out at reasonable speed. I went to the counter multiple times and asked if the order was ready or if they had called my name, nothing.

My pizza had to be remade three times; the first time it was almost entirely burnt, the second time I asked for a certain sauce and they gave me something completely different, the third time they had to redo it because I got less than half the toppings I asked for.

After that I gave up and just asked for a refund, the refund was quick and the staff were apologetic. I really love Blaze Pizza but this experience makes me seriously reconsider coming back. It could've been an off night, maybe the staff were burnt out; I truly understand if thats the case but I am disappointed in my visit tonight. I sincerely hope that the service is better...
