I love trying out new South Bay breakfast spots! @Cool_beans in Torrance is a cute little spot run by an incredibly nice couple! I really enjoyed the syrniki, a Eastern European style cheese pancake, and the honey cake! Also the avocado toast was phenomenal! #fyp #laeats #wheretoeat #vlog #torrance

Came here on a Sunday morning to try it out, and overall, it was a very positive, healthy breakfast experience in a cozy, cute atmosphere. The Food: The Ham and Cheese Omelette was the best dish we tried. The Avocado Toast was good, but the side salad was bland and could use some dressing. We tried the traditional Syrniki (dense cottage cheese pancakes) out of curiosity; it's small but surprisingly filling and not too sweet. It was interesting, but not something I'd order again. Drinks: The Hoji Cha was very good, earthy and not too sweet. The Citrus Matcha was beautiful, but the orange juice overpowered the matcha, making it taste mostly like juice. Service/Tip: Everything is clearly made fresh, which we appreciated, but be prepared for a wait, as service seemed a little slow. Hopefully, they can scale up as they get busier. A lovely new option in the South Bay

DELICIOUS SYRNIKI. My first time ever trying that type of pancake and it was remarkable. Their shakshouka was the best one I’ve ever had by far- wish the portion was bigger because I could’ve eaten more šŸ˜†.The tomato had a freshness to it and the texture was more chunky in veggies pieces that stood out amongst the other shakshouka I’ve had that were a bit more wet and saucy. Different people, different preference - I get it… but I personally loved the chunkiness. The matcha tonic drink was ssoooooo refreshing for a warm afternoon. It’s cute little cafe with maybe 6 seats inside, but a few more on the outside. Parking is plenty. The two ladies working were so convincing on their menu items, I swear I wanted everything. But that means we’ll have to return and try the others.

I went to Cool Beans today (Sunday) on a whim to pick up some lunch for my Mom and me. I got a ham and cheese omelette, which was decent. They have shakshuka, which I would have gotten if I was wasn't getting the food to go. I saw some dine-in patrons with it and I was immediately jealous. The farmer's cheese pancakes are a nice departure from your standard American breakfast menu items; you should definitely combine your forkful with the fruit and sour cream they offer on the side (otherwise, the pancakes are bit one-note). Coffee's good. They didn't have beef samsas available today; sounds like they're only available on Wednesdays (didn't hear the person taking my order well). I will be coming back for those. Then there's the medovik (or honey cake). A slice will run you $8, but it is a rather unique dessert (for LA) and VERY labor intensive. Most importantly, of course, it is delicious. Take heed that this is not a sugar bomb dessert like most American/European-style cakes. This is honey-sweetened so, the sweetness is a bit more subtle. If you have a few minutes, take a look at a recipe for it to appreciate the final product. Again, it's not easy to make and I'll definitely be throwing my money at them for this dessert alone.

Good quality food with some kind, hard-working owners. Do yourself and the community a favor - head over here for your next coffee, lunch, and/or...

Visited Cool Beans for the first time with a couple of friends and I’m so glad that I did!

It’s a cool little ā€œmom and popā€ gem that is tucked away in a strip mall off of Pacific Coast Highway in Torrance.

It’s a small cafe that offers limited indoor and outside seating. Take out is also available too.

The cafe offers a variety of specialty coffees & teas, fresh pastries and a nice selection of breakfast dishes.

The establishment is spotless and the staff are extremely friendly and accommodating.

I ordered the veggie omelette with egg-whites, which was accompanied by a mixed green salad & a slice of sourdough toast. It was amazing!!! Quite flavorful and just the right portion size too!

My friends ordered the avocado toast, oatmeal and we all shared the Syriniki, which is described by in the menu as ā€œfarmers cheese pancakes.ā€

They absolutely loved the avocado toast and oatmeal!

With regard to the Syriniki, it was REALLY good and a must try! I would describe it as being similar to a ricotta cheese that is golden brown and served with fresh sliced strawberries and whipped cream.

It was clearly apparent by my experience that their delicious offerings, coupled with fantastic customer experience, truly demonstrates their pride and passion for their food and patrons.

I would strongly recommend visiting this wonderful mom and pop...

I’ve recently found Cool Beans & Friends and it’s quickly become my go-to spot in Torrance. What really stands out is how genuinely friendly the staff are – they greet you with actual warmth, not the forced kind you get at chain coffee shops. They clearly care about what they’re doing. The coffee here is excellent. I’ve tried plenty of different cooffes and all were made perfectly. You can tell they pay attention to the details and use quality beans. But honestly, it’s not just about the coffee. The food is really good too. I had their mushroom omelet and the cakes, and everything tasted fresh and homemade. The honey cake is worth trying if you have a sweet tooth. The vibe is cozy without being cramped, and the service is quick even when they’re busy. It’s the kind of neighborhood spot where you feel comfortable sitting down with a friend or just grabbing something on your way out. The prices are fair for what you get, especially considering the quality and the fact that everything is made with care. If you’re in the area and looking for good coffee and real food made by people who actually care, this...
