I frequent Weinerschizel one month ago, noticed my chili cheese fries tasted different and thought maybe Wienerschnitzel perhaps changed their recipe. On July 17, 2022 I went back and placed same order polish dog and large chili cheese fries. By chance while waiting noticed Linda dumping old fries back into the fryer (double frying). I expressed my lament to the manager Alex about food safety. He made up an excuse that she was new, which she was not as I later found out. I left and filled out survey experience on receipt. On July 18, 2022 receive call from I believe Sandra Pacheco. She said there is no such GM named Alex, but does know who he is based on my description. She also knew who Linda the cook was and was not a new employee. Mind you Sandra is talking to me and serving customers from whatever location as she has to put me on hold a couple of times. Sandra advised that she is the regional manager and is aware franchisees do this and that it is on going problem. Sandra acknowledged also that Alex the GM provided a customer a false name. Sandra was so busy she advised will need to call me back. She further said that this location has a new owner recently and she is trying to deal with reheating food practice done by many locations. I never received a call back. I fiIed a complaint through the corporate website and requested a call back by someone from corporate. Needless to say Wienerschnitzel never responded. I am surprised and thought this type of practice is not of concern to corporate. My concern is of food safety practice. If this is an issue does this practice happen to other food products they serve? I also submitted my concern to CA Heath. My hope is that this will be looked into and ensure this practice...
Read moreYou can get a lot for not too much. The portions may be small, but the prices usually reflect that. I have a habit of over eating/ordering too much, so this is just fine with me. For those of you who were wondering, no the chilli won't send you running to the toilet to relieve yourself; can't say the same for the kind that usually comes in a can. Then again, their chilli doesn't have beans (form what I remember).
Chilli is the name of the game. It's what Wienerschnitzel is all about! And theirs is good. I had their chilli cheese burger, Chicago style hot dog, and the pastrami dog. All great. Also, their buns don't fall apart, I find that quit impressive! They offer discounts to both students and veterans.
If I'm ever in Torrance again, this place will be on my mind....
Read moreMy mom and I came to get a simple lunch. My mom wanted chili cheese fries w/ fries and I got a corn dog w/fries. As we got our food, we noticed that our fries had these weird brown flakes all over them. My mom went to take back our food all to find out that nobody has cleaned the grease in the deep fryer. Meaning that we were eating DIRTY GREASE. Absolutely disgusted! The employee(s) had put jalapeno poppers in and they claim that it popped all over our food. Clearly not that hard to clean the grease! I don't care how long it takes, how much we're holding up the line. CLEAN THE GREASE!
We finally got a refund and we went to a totally different fast food place on the area. Huge difference! I expected more from this...
