Review of J.J. Bakery – A Taste of Taiwan with a European Touch
J.J. Bakery is truly a hidden gem for Taiwanese pastries and desserts in California. From the moment you step in, you’re greeted with the aroma of freshly baked goods, all made daily to ensure freshness and quality. Their selection of Taiwanese-style pastries, bread, and desserts is both diverse and delightful, making it a must-visit for anyone who appreciates well-crafted baked goods.
One of the standout items was the beef turnover, which was incredibly flavorful and perfectly baked. The coconut dessert was another highlight—rich, delicate, and full of flavor, yet light enough to leave you wanting more. What sets J.J. Bakery apart is how well-balanced their desserts are. Unlike many overly sweet confections, their pastries have a refined sweetness that is reminiscent of European bakeries, making them enjoyable without being overwhelming.
The customer service was excellent. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable, taking the time to describe each item and offer recommendations. Even though everything is carefully packaged for safety and hygiene reasons, the quality remains top-notch, ensuring that every bite is as fresh as possible.
Final Verdict: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (5/5 Stars) • Pros: Freshly baked daily, balanced flavors, light yet rich desserts, friendly service • Cons: None—everything was excellent

Current families’ favorite: Zong-zi (leaf wrap sticky rich with mushroom/egg yolk/pork belly) Meat lover (savory) Hokkaido toast (toast, powered sugar on top, hint of sweetness, spongy texture, larger size that typical square toast) Soy milk (sweetened, not too sweet, *healthier substitute than boba imo) Mungbean barley drink (cooling for summer, sweetened, new item, sweeter...
Read moreWe absolutely love JJ Bakery! It was always our dads favorite place for baked goodies. Also for every birthday or celebration we come here to get our cakes. You can get a whole cake which we do time to time, but we usually get a few different slices and all share. My absolute favorite is their Mochi dessert. Inside is cake with fruit and whip cream and outside is soft delicious mochi. Comes in green tea, strawberry, mango and I believe red bean. They have fresh daily baked pastries and bread as well! The staff here are all so amazing...
