Dimitris Gyro Grill — Restaurant in Town/Village of Harrison

Staff was on point as soon as I walked in. I said “Grubhub for pickup” and the young lady behind the counter grabbed the bag and asked for my name. Quick and easy. Food was packaged and bagged well. Everything made it home in one piece and then the fun began. Ordered the Gyro platter for my wife and ordered the Chicken platter for myself. No cold food (two thumbs up) and the Tzatziki is phenomenal. Some eateries that make their sauce in house tend to make it a little stronger.. Dimitri’s make their sauce and it’s very well balanced you can taste the freshness by itself and it goes great on whatever you put it on. Gyro platter was great! Nothing chewy or dry. It was seasoned very well and it held up its heat as it made it home. It was ordered with the green salad and the French fries. If you’re not a fan of fries, there’s also a rice or lemon potatos side to choose from. My chicken platter was also ordered with the green salad and fries and that was all great, chicken was soft and moist. Seasoning was balanced and it went absolutely great in the tzatziki sauce.

We ordered a side of falafels and the order brings 6 with hummus for dipping. The falafels are made well. Not oily nor greasy and they hold up. Not like other places that if you go to grab one it falls apart as you’re picking it up.

Looking forward to ordering from them again in the future. Nothing better than great traditional food cooked well and enjoyed while it’s still steaming!

Went here for the first time today as I work in the area. I took my food to go and in the car on my way back to the office I started to pick on the falafel and hummus w/ chips. Boy the food is the best Greek food I have had in a LONG time. I had happened to be on the phone with someone and told them I had to call them back and then I called Dimitris back. I think I had initially scared the girl on the phone when I said I was just in there but then I started to rave about the food, she was pleasantly surprised. I had to tell them their food was delicious and one of the best I had in a while. I had to follow the phone call with this review. If you are in the area I Highly recommend this place. It’s ok if you don’t have allergies. I used to come here for takeout often, then last August when my order was messed up (I wrote no sauce/tzatziki due to my dairy allergy, and they put mustard on my gf wrap). I called to see if they can re-make it and they said I would have to pay for another. So I haven’t been back in months. I decided I would give it another shot and the gluten free wrap is $4…… for an add on. Being gluten free isn’t a choice for me, and the owners have a son with allergies they should know how outrageous a $4 up charge is. Especially when new restaurants in town don’t charge for GF bread, and my favorite Greek spot in Westchester (not this one) doesn’t charge for the same GF Kontos Pita. Kinda sad I can’t get just grilled...
