I am a famously fussy eater and vegetarian, so most of the time if my loved ones are getting sushi I either don’t eat at the restaurant or get a small side dish that I can have. At Hajime they had so many options that I could choose from I was very surprised. I really wanted the fried noodles but it came with chicken and vegetables, but our very friendly waiter said without the chicken was really no problem. I also let him know that I can’t have any spice and he reassured me when I ordered and again when it arrived that there was no spice and he even waited for me to take a mouthful of a food to ensure it was okay for me. I’ve never felt so cared about in a restaurant before and I was so grateful to him for caring about a seemingly fussy girl. We genuinely had the best time here for my fiancés birthday, and after our entrees they brought us a huge plate of different sorbets with a candle in. We had no idea they were doing this and it was such a thoughtful touch. I very much got the vibe of a family business that has been around a while, quietly serving the most delicious food. Truly a hidden gem! We have agreed that we will go out of our way to travel the half an hour it takes to get here just for this place. The atmosphere and hospitality is unmatched. Thank you so much!

I’ve been looking for a good sushi spot since I moved out of the city, and this place is it. Amazing quality fish, super quick and attentive service, and very comforting vibes. The Hajime special is an incredible deal, and the green tea is *chefs kiss.* It’s right by the Harrison train station so it’s super convenient despite me living 3 towns away. Will definitely be making this a regular visit. Love love love, highly recommend! Edit: i have indeed become a regular here lol. It’s my happy place

Without a doubt the best sushi you can get in the area. It is pricier than others but you’re paying for quality and we feel it’s worth it. The service is friendly and efficient. Parking can be on the street in front or the lot in back. The hajime special is always excellent, especially the tuna roll it comes with. The chirashi bowl comes with a good variety of fish and the tomago is a nice touch. And the rolls we’ve ordered have been great and filling

I have been going to hajime for decades and I can tell you it's that kind of restaurant. Exceptional quality fish carefully looked after by chefs who won't even allow delivery because they're too concerned your sushi won't be fresh when it's delivered. After so many years the close tables and delicious food has become part of the fabric of our town and the comfort food I need during hard times. So well loved we often run into business travelers who are there all the way from Japan because even they are told it's the best. This is not trendy, fly by night sushi for people who don't know that sushi rice should be seasoned properly. This is beautiful fresh sushi made with love and I would bet some of the best unagi you will get for miles. Make a reservation... only regulars like us get seated on a busy night without one! But come and learn what sushi is supposed...

If you're a hardcore sushi fan and you've never stepped foot in this establishment, can you even call yourself a real sushi lover? This place has exceeded all of my expectations with its flavorful food. The first bite of sushi instilled in me pure bliss; the balanced flavors of the vinegar rice and of the fish smoothly intertwine with each other. And don't get me started on the fish---the fish is super fresh, and I can taste the effort that went into sourcing this high-quality ingredient. The simple act of tasting the food has given me immense respect for the sushi masters' artistry and pride in their craft. Eating here is an experience I will never forget, and I am eager to come back,...
